The USA Volleyball Junior National Club Championship brings together the best club programs in the country under one roof in Indianapolis, and Prep Dig will be on the floor to scout the field from the very start. As part of the pre-tournament showcase on June 24th at the Indiana Convention Center, several Prep Dig state-ranked prospects and those who are currently unranked but also very intriguing prospects to be from across the country will step onto the court before the main event begins. College coaches looking to get an early read on the next wave of talent would do well to circle the following names before the tournament tipping schedule fills their notebooks. Let's take a look at a few of the names who will be in attendance.

Autumn has already been logging reps with one of the stronger club programs in her region, which has put her in front of a level of competition that accelerates a setter's development curve. Whenyou watch her play, you see that her game is necessarily built on quickness, footwork precision, and decision-making rather than physical length and those are exactly the qualities a setter needs to make a system run smoothly regardless of size. What evaluators should watch for in Indianapolis is how efficiently she gets to the ball and squares her shoulders before release and whether her tempo choices show variety or fall into predictable patterns when the blockers across the net are unfamiliar. I am looking forward to seeing her in position specific drills with other setters from across the nation.

[player_tooltip player_id='776371' first='Mattea' last='Capozzi'] carries a versatile designation as she has played multiple positions in both high school and club. Her path to standing out is built entirely on read-and-react quality. The speed with which she identifies a hitter's swing path, the consistency of her platform under pressure, and her willingness to cover ground that taller defenders often leave open is something we will be watching for. Her natural defensive instincts are worth tracking closely when she steps onto the floor in Indianapolis amongst all of the top libero players who are currently signed up. We will be watching her closely and you should as well.

Several Prep Dig scouts singled out Kayla Tutoni at a regional freshman showcase as one of the most enjoyable players to watch on the day, noting elite defensive instincts, fast ground-up recovery, and a knack for keeping seemingly dead balls alive with one-handed digs that looked like sure points for the opponent. She was already handling attacks from hitters several years older than her without hesitation, which is one of the clearest indicators evaluators look for in a young defensive specialist. From what I can see in her film, her serve receive form has flashes of being spectacular along with her defensive digging skills. She is one of the more genuinely exciting young defenders on this entire showcase roster that I cannot wait to see in person.
