5 More Names You Need to Know From the IL Freshman Showcase

When I say the talent was heavy at the IL Freshman Showcase I mean it! I actually was blown away by this class of 2030. They all seemed so polished. Libero's and DS were passing and digging well, OH/RS were tooling the block and hitting well, MB showed tons of skill and effort, and some setters seemed wise beyond their years. Impressive group to talk about and here is 5 more athletes!    Marlow can really play! She seems to have quick feet for that MB/MH position. Moves well along that net and isn't afraid to get over that net and press the block. If she isn't already I could see her running slides because she is agile, coordinated, and can hit. Watched her during some gameplay as well and she is smart. Can hit you with power, swipes, whatever you need from the MH position she can give it to you.     Collins just covers the court really well. Moves quickly but under control and holds down the back row. Strong base and core help her move feet laterally. She always seems to be in the right spot passes well. Saw her take some hard hit balls and pass them right to the setter spot. Skilled back row player who you want in that back row.     Paisley seems to have a knack for getting herself in front of the ball. Whether she has the ball bounce off her chest or opens up using her platform to make a pass or dig she can do it. Seems to have a good nose for the ball. Really stretches her platform out to make contact creating space for good passes. I like what I saw from Huerta!     I just felt like Kayleigh moved very well on the court. She covered a lot of ground and just seemed under control not erratic. Agile movement slid well and got to her spots to make digs and passes. She looked a little longer than listed with good back row length and reach. At times made things look easy on the court. Effortless and smooth is how I would describe her.     I like to see early on that players can do multiple positions. It shows versatility and overall game. I see that from Milan. She is a left who can play some RS which I love, can swing out the back row and defends in the back row with her DS/L titles as well. She had good reflexes I noticed with hard hit balls and a nice lefty serve that's difficult to track.    I was able to get a little time watching these players at the freshman showcase and learned a little more about them online. I saw some skills in the gym and on highlights as well. These players made me interested to dive a little more into their game. Make sure scouts, coaches, players, teams can find you if they want to learn more about your skills and game. If you don't post highlights and people can't see you at tournaments or games you may get missed. Be proud of the hardworking you all put in.
