Athletes Who Made a Lasting Impact : IL Freshman Showcase

There was a depth of talent that should have received its recognition regardless of positional breakdown. Their skill, fire, and play stood out. This 2030 class upside will not stand alone just here at this showcase, but we are grateful for the start that was created. Heart and determination are not lacking with her. She has a knack for tracking the ball and being two steps ahead at all times. A leader on the floor who understands positioning and the game at a high rate and pace. Passing ability is accurate, speed is quick, along with her decision making.     When it came down to showing skills, Paisley displayed them at every turn. Head and eyes always watching and being proactive, never reacting. She may not be the fastest, but you won't question how she makes the plays she does because she is there time after time. Hustle and fundamentals will keep this one on the floor at all times and keep hitters frustrated for points.     Faith is a leaper; she uses every bit of her athleticism for the good, turning plays into highlights. She has the hangtime to adjust to difficult sets and the knowledge to make plays out of them. Her swing packs a big punch. Her defense is solid. Even with her strength she has a good touch on her serve.     It is not always about the biggest and fastest, nor the obvious. The obvious sometimes comes when it's time to play and show. Samantha may be undersized for now, but she knows how to play. She is athletic, but more importantly, she has a high IQ and understanding of the game. Always reading the floor and defenders, attacking spots and opening. Back row she is a weapon as a passer and even attacker.     Mirabelle is scrappy, another textbook, fundamental-sound anchor. She is dependable. Making all the right plays at the right time, nothing is touching the floor around her. Not the loudest with her voice, but you may hear her body slamming time after time. One arm digs repeatedly, keeping balls in play and passing consistently, what more can you ask for.     On the side of skills, you aren't going to be disappointed with Brynlee. With her size and athleticism, she can put that height on each ball and get across the court. Adding the touch and steady hands she has, she is capable of doing so much on the court. Back sets and jump sets are easy for her nature, while setting D balls are in her wheelhouse.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Thank you to all the participants and athletes for showing out and bringing their A game!
