Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! This Sunday we have three big events that will be held at the Courtside Sports Center on July 19th. We have the Stock Up showcase for grad classes 2027 and 2028, the Sophomore ID for the 2029 grad class, and the Freshman showcase for the 2030 grad class. These events bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who everyone should be watching at the Sophomore ID showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='778203' first='Brooklyn' last='Kingsley'] plays bigger than her frame suggests and that has been one of the most consistent things about her every time I have watched her compete. Her game has been built on anticipation and first-step quickness and she has shown enough of both to earn her official watch list placement. What I am looking forward to seeing on Sunday is whether her platform angle consistency holds up against the level of serve and attack she will face in this setting. She has the competitive makeup to handle the moment and I am curious to see how much her read has sharpened since the last time I had eyes on her. Stay tuned for the report on her play

[player_tooltip player_id='542662' first='Alexis' last='Mull'] is another 5'1" libero in this group who competes with an energy level that makes her easy to find on a crowded floor. She communicates well and keeps the defensive unit around her connected, which is a quality that shows up in the flow of the game long before it shows up in a box score. The Sophomore ID showcase is the right stage for her to demonstrate that her tools translate against competition outside of her district and I am expecting to see growth in her lateral range and her ability to handle pace she has not seen before. Her watch list status is well earned and Sunday is a chance to push that conversation forward to potential placement on the state ranking list. We will see how she produces.

Piper stands out in this libero group not just because of her height advantage but because of the floor coverage she generates with it. At 5'5", she has the length to handle balls that shorter defenders have to dive for and I have seen her make those plays look routine when her reads are dialed in. What I want to see from her on Sunday is that consistency across a full day of competition, because the ability to sustain that level of performance from the first drill to the last scrimmage is what separates watch list players from ranked ones. She has real potential to move that needle and this showcase is a meaningful step in that direction. We will be watching her closely and you should too. Let's see if she can earn Top Performer honors like we think she can.
