Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! This Sunday we have three big events that will be held at the Courtside Sports Center on July 19th. We have the Stock Up showcase for grad classes 2027 and 2028, the Sophomore ID for the 2029 grad class, and the Freshman showcase for the 2030 grad class. These events bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who everyone should be watching at the Sophomore ID showcase.

Azaria has shown me flashes of a middle blocker who understands the position beyond just swinging the ball and that awareness is what keeps her on my radar heading into Sunday. Her footwork and her ability to read a quick set have both been areas of growth each time I have watched her and I am looking forward to seeing whether those improvements have continued to develop. At 5'7" in the 2029 class, she still has physical development ahead of her and the combination of that ceiling with the positional IQ she already shows makes her a compelling prospect to track. The Sophomore ID showcase puts her in front of the right people at the right time.

Miss Smith has caught my attention every time I have seen her compete and it is not always for the same reason, which tells you something about how complete her game is developing. She passes well enough to stay on the floor in serve receive, she attacks with intention rather than just effort and she competes with a consistency that a lot of players her age have not figured out yet. Sunday gives her a chance to show that game in front of college coaches and scouts who have not had the opportunity to see her in person and I think she is going to make an impression. She is exactly the kind of player this showcase was built for. Stay tuned to see what the court coaches and I see from her.

Lexi has the frame that makes evaluators stop and take notice and the times I have watched her she has been backing it up with the kind of attacking production that justifies the attention. At 5'10" as an outside hitter in the 2029 class, the ceiling conversation is one of the most interesting in this entire group and Sunday is a chance for her to put a performance behind that physical profile. What I am specifically looking for is how her serve receive and footwork to pursue the ball happen in this setting and whether her approach timing continues to sharpen against a faster block. We will see if she has the tools to move from watch list to ranked list based on what she produces in this showcase.
