Alexis Mull, defensive specialist out of Harker Heights, came in with all the energy for the Sophomore Showcase. Taking the extra step to go for the ball every play displayed her all out effort that got her noticed early. On top of her defense and hustle, Alexis took it a step further by ensuring she communicated with players alongside her every single play. Her effort and communication does not go unanswered as her extra step mentality constantly puts her in position to make the play happen.

Alexis earned her Top Performer award at the Sophomore ID Showcase by doing what great liberos do at every level. She made her team better on every single contact. At 5’1″, she plays a position that demands effort and her game demonstrated that clearly from the first drill segment through the final scrimmage. Her platform was consistent and repeatable, holding its shape even when serves came with pace and angle designed to test exactly that. She read the game ahead of the ball, positioning herself in serve receive before the server had made contact. She competed with the kind of intensity and pride in her craft that the libero position demands and the Sophomore ID Showcase gave scouts their first good look at a player who plays the back row with a level of focus well beyond her class year. Alexis Mull Alexis Mull 5'2" | DS/L Harker Heights | 2029 TX is another 5’1″ libero in this group who competes with an energy level that makes her easy to find on a crowded floor. She communicates well and keeps the defensive unit around her connected, which is a quality that shows up in the flow of the game long before it shows up in a box score. The Sophomore ID showcase is the right stage for her to demonstrate that her tools translate against competition outside of her district and I am expecting to see growth in her lateral range and her ability to handle pace she has not seen before. Her watch list status is well earned and Sunday is a chance to push that conversation forward to potential placement on the state ranking list.  We will see how she produces.
