Familiar Stars Shine at Iowa Stock Up Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We love a good encore performance.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our Prep Dig Showcase events are often framed as an opportunity to make discoveries and add players to our radar. And, yes, that happens a lot. But we're also treated to repeat appearances from athletes we've seen before, giving us a glimpse into a player's personal growth and development. Schaper's PowerPlex lineup was a Prep Dig Circuit staple, earning championships at the Midwest National Tune Up and Quad Cities Quest. Throughout the team's barnstorming tour, Schaper has provided the kind of stability and leadership you'd want from your ball control anchor. She does her best work from the setter spot, particularly while piloting three-hitter rotations from the back row. Connolly has been an incredible scoring weapon at every phase of her Prep Dig Circuit journey. She meshed well with her Iowa PowerPlex teammates this spring, but Connolly can also elevate unfamiliar teammates in a showcase environment. Moreover, this WDM Valley junior has put considerable work into her serving and defense to become a true six-rotation asset. Southpaw opposites are always fun to watch in a fast-paced showcase, as they bring different angles and tempos for players to solve. Eischeid filled that niche at Sunday's showcase, carving inside blockers with incredible efficiency. She led 15-1 to a runner-up finish in the 15s division of our Midwest National Tune-Up, and the late-season momentum hasn't slowed since then. Goldsmith slugged the ball with tremendous pace at the Stock Up Showcase, finding ways to tool off of well-formed blocks. She maintained that energy through serve-pass drills that put her tracking skills on full display. RVA 15U Gladden reached the podium in that ever-competitive group, and Skinner's pin termination paved the way throughout. However, that May event wasn't our first glimpse at the Johnston sophomore. Skinner's frontcourt onslaught yielded a championship run at February's Iowa Clash, putting several RVA Roots 2029s on our radar. Howarter has seen her share of showcase success on our circuit, but Iowa is not her home territory. She carries the banner for MAVS KC and has flourished as a defensive force in the Heart of America Region. I was fresh off of overhauling the Kansas 2029 rankings, so Howarter's inclusion on our Iowa Stock Up entry list was a pleasant surprise. She brought much of the same twitchy, agile work we saw from her at last winter's showcase in her native Kansas City.
