at the Windy City Qualifier where PowerPlex 16 Chapman was able to advance to the day three gold bracket. Schaper is quick on her feet which allows her to get her hands on the ball. I was also impressed with how she was able to defend her position first before transitioning to the net to set. She was able to spread the ball around, allowing her attackers a chance to score points. She preps at Ames High which could be a program to watch with some momentum generated this past club season.

plays with visible competitiveness and pace. She transitions quickly from defense into offensive structure and keeps the offense moving, even after scramble plays. Her release is decisive, and she shows confidence setting in tight windows.
Schaper also keeps blockers honest with second-contact awareness and shows natural leadership through communication and energy. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas
Why track her now: Competitive edge and early leadership traits are difficult to teach and give her long-term upside at the position.

Time to complete the PowerPlex quartet. Schaper joins forces with Juergens on the PowerPlex 16U Chapman roster, giving the team a broad expanse of lineup possibilities. We got a glimpse of Schaper’s steady hands as a setter, but her platform and backcourt were just as impressive. Schaper led Ames High School in assists and aces while also piling up triple-digit digs along the end line. The Schaper-Juergens combo will be quite a sight in the 16U Chapman rotation.

Ames returns a lot of talent from last season’s regional semifinalist team. Schaper ranks among the most gifted in that group as she showed during her freshman campaign of 2024. She handed out 257 assists sharing setting duties with a senior. With 103 digs, Schaper proved to have a broad skill set at the position. Schaper appeared ready for full-time setter duties with the Little Cyclones this season during the LOVB Midwest Recruiting Showcase in June. She comfortable got the ball to the three front-row positions with a soft touch and accuracy. Her quick feet help her get into place to make the cleanest set, and they also help with her defending in the back. Schaper is one to watch in 2025.
