High Motor Prospects at WA Stock Up Showcase

Pelesasa again was a standout at this showcase. The MVP in this same setting a year ago, her motor goes and goes. Her physical effort speaks for itself while her vocal leadership and connectivity to those around her on the court are constant, which includes great support and encouragement. Athletically, her arm highlighted the growth of her game as she entered the showcase making the move to the pins following emphasis in the middle last summer. And a great move that is given how she brought big power from both sides of the floor while displaying her versatility in running a few quick middle routes with the same success. The Mt. Rainier rising junior is the Rams' top returning offensive threat. Expect her numbers to grow as her skills have done so over the last cycle.     Savini (*pictured) was a bright spot and somewhat of a surprise once the session found its flow and game play started given this was the first time I saw her play. At 5'8, she has good phsyicality as a pin with noticeable lift off the floor and a solid arm that is fundamental in its action and can bring some heavy pace. With a humble demeanor when talking about the upcoming season, the former Kentwood HS star indicated she will be competing for Mt. Rainier in 2026, her sophomore season, to help form a potentially dangerous point scoring duo alongside Pelesasa. Her goals heading into the fall season are to continue working hard to make sure she earns her opportunities with the Rams.     Eberhardt was Blanchet's top offensive threat in 2025 as she showcased what she can do at the pins in preparation for what should be an ever greater performance this coming fall. She has a long frame that can create good touch point with good power and movement when hitting. Playing primarily on the right pin during the club season, her skills are broad as a terminal threat and force from either side of the court. She indicated she loves the game for the family atmosphere that has been part of her teams while her goals for the high school season are for her team to increase their 2025 season success (21-6 overall), finish close games at a higher rate, and get back to the state tournament and improve their overall finish in the 3A bracket.     Volkman has improved all aspects of her game since the 2025 showcase. The six-rotation pin has a good foundation in the effort she brings to the floor. In characterizing the quality of her movement and execution, she is fluid and efficient in how she plays the game. She showcased good force of contact with her arm when swinging along with floor leadership that was assertive and supportive of those on her side of the net. She will be back with Puyallup this fall season where she was a key offensive threat in 2025 as a sophmore as the Vikings finished 5th at the 4A state tournament.     Valiquette stood out instantly, even as everyone was warming up to get ready to show their value when the session started. Her athletic background in track and flag football was evident in how she moved around the floor and created quality opportunities for hitters. Her quickness is a huge asset as she gets to the ball on balance with ability to sling it either direction with good extension and finish. Her court presence is much bigger than her 5'4 frame might indicate at first glance. Valiquette loves volleyball for its team aspect by comparison to the individualized work on the track.
