More GJNC Stars Climbing Updated Kansas 2029 Rankings

Our Kansas 2029 rankings update is loaded with rising names and massive gains. In part, it's what we'd expect from a group just entering its second year of prep competition. But Kansas' rising sophomores have also brought a rare level of growth and development that has translated to national success.   And, speaking of national success, we're fresh off a wave of storylines and top performers from Indianapolis. USAV Nationals brought out the best in many of Kansas' top athletes, and the 2029s were well represented.   The GJNC tape helped tell the tale of these ranking rises for the Class of 2029.    Here's another one of [program_tooltip program_id='430200' first='KC' last='Power'] 15-1's trend-setting superstars. McGuire dished out the team's up-tempo offense throughout the club campaign, and she might have saved her best for the home stretch. Her squad made the quarterfinal round of 15 Open competition, punctuating an exceptional season that gained steam after an MEQ championship. McGuire's leadership, poise, and high-level experience will serve her well as she prepares for Year 2 at Shawnee Mission East, where she put up over 800 total assists as a freshman.     We can always expect the MAVS KC gym to have its share of standout defenders. Peterson took the mantle for MAVS 15 Elite, helping her team clinch a USAV Nationals berth through MEQ. 15 Elite then upgraded to the Open level ahead of GJNC and put Peterson's backcourt instincts to work against the nation's best. She responded with a stellar Indianapolis highlight tape with sprawling saves and pinpoint passes. Peterson's effort hasn't waned since she appeared on our showcase stage last winter.     15s depth is painting a bright future for KC Power. Barnes added plenty of middle firepower for the 15-2 offense and kept her squad in the national spotlight throughout the qualifier gauntlet. KC Power 15-2 made a big statement with a runner-up finish at Show Me, where Barnes' heavy-handed approach first landed on our coverage radar. Her scoring onslaught continued in Indianapolis. Barnes is adept at finding space in first-ball situations and carving space outside of opposing hands. Look for Gardner-Edgerton to make the most of their terminal underclassman.     Add another exceptional setter to the list of PVA 15 Elite standouts. Howe is the kind of athlete who will do anything necessary to help her team succeed. Her wicked serve and gritty floor defense made her a common fixture in the 15 Elite rotation. She could instantly come off the bench and turn the tide in unconventional ways. Even a daunting Open schedule at GJNC could not quell Howe's positive influence in the back row. 15 Elite's rise to prominence in the Heart of America Region has prepared Howe for whatever's next with Blue Valley West, Kansas' defending 6A champ.     Carrying Dynasty's libero jersey likely comes with some added pressure, especially while competing at the Open level. Garcia is built to handle it. She makes quick first steps to the ball and will readily fill seams in the passing pattern. Garcia thrived in the friendly confines of Kansas City, as shown through Dynasty 15 Black's run to a Show Me title. However, this summer's trip to Indianapolis further cemented Garcia's rise among her defensive peers. She can get it done anywhere.     We're checking back in with the Manhattan Mamba 15-1 crew, which gave us plenty of 2029 stock risers to consider. Klein rocketed into the spotlight with her springy, high-impact style at the middle blocker spot. She transitions hard off the net and can tower over the top of double blocks at the net. Some of Klein's best moments came at MEQ, where Manhattan Mamba hoisted the 15 American title to assure a place at GJNC. Her rise continued at Indianapolis, and Klein will rejoin many of her club teammates at Manhattan High this fall.     More under-the-radar gems have emerged after MAVS 816 15 National soared up the Heart of America leaderboard this spring. Siebert's crosscourt hammer carried 15 National to multiple top-ten finishes in the 15 Liberty division, but USAV Nationals brought another level of elite competition. MAVS 816 eventually nabbed a 15 USA berth and added to Siebert's ever-expanding influence behind the setter. She can take over matches on the right antenna and has only started to reach her full potential. Another prep campaign with BVW will certainly help.
