Pin Hitters Aiming for Strong HS Finish in Latest 27 Rankings

Tall hitters are not necessarily put in the middle. The versatile ones make things happen from the pins and can often end up in the front row as pin hitters. These pin hitters have high hopes of finishing their high school careers strong this fall.    Mineer (pictured) is a true terminator on the outside. She has an explosive four-step approach, extension and finish. Her high attack point helps her hit over and around blocks. Even strong defensive specialists have a hard time digging her up when in the right position. Mineer makes great habits of tooling blocks. Mineer is equally strong on blocks with her form. She does not struggle with lefties like many do. Her versatility shows in the back row with her firm two to three-point passing. Mineer also brings great enthusiasm to the court.     Warren has a good vertical jump to take nice swings for the Comets. Warren can tool blocks and mix in softer two to two zone cut shots to surprise defenders. Warren is not afraid to shove out of system balls to opposite lines for quick points. Warren uses her off (left) hand to land unexpected tips. Warren also plays basketball like many of her Carlisle County teammates, which helps her in terms of conditioning.     Bassett actually played a good bit of libero for her club team this season. She makes a lot of simple passes to jumpstart the offensive rhythm and dives when needed to keep plays alive. Bassett showed she can handle sinking line drive hits. She uses a good platform to make sound two to three-point passes then quickly moves forward to provide good net protection. Bassett is also sound in serve reception. Bassett reacts quickly to balls hit over her. She'll be an asset for Murray with her improved passing this fall.     Disselkamp's game took a number of steps forward during club season for 17 White. Disselkamp has an improved arm swing. She tools blocks at both pins and has a nice high attack point to hit over double blocks. Disselkamp mixes in off shots to the middle to give defenses something extra to consider. Disselkamp records solid double and solo blocks. She uses momentum to slide over and aggressively block balls. Her sound swing block form also helps there. Disselkamp's instincts on defense can't be overlooked. Disselkamp hustles after balls with ner nice instincts. She makes a lot of simple passes and good adjustments on redirected balls.     Rumer added some new dimensions to her offensive attack during club season. Rumer sneaks behind setters and pounds balls on slides. Rumer uses her size well to hit over blocks in the middle and pins. Rumer consistently times up her hits with precision to tool blocks. Rumer attacks seams relentlessly and has solid timing on her blocks. An improved rhythm on the slides will make her all the more effective.
