Much of the club volleyball coverage at Prep Dig Iowa is geared toward the 15U-17U divisions. Most of these kids already are in high school. Their recruiting processes are underway in various stages. Now that we're at the end of the season, however, it's a good time to check in on the 14Us, many of whom will be freshmen in a few months.

I did just that last week at the USAV Junior National Tournament in Indianapolis. The age group impressed and foreshadowed what should be strong contributions to the prep scene in 2026 and beyond. It seemed fitting to highlight those student-athletes and a good idea to break them down positionally.

Here's a closer look at opposite pins that performed well on the sport's biggest stage:

Iowa Select 14s won the Iowa Regional. When watching it finish 11th in the National Division at the USAV Junior Nationals, the team proved to be solid everywhere on the court. The right-side pin was productive with Senio's consistent two-way contributions at the spot. She's a good athlete that leaps well and can hang in the air. It's a heavy swing, especially when considering her youth. There's room for plenty of growth there. Senio's net defense is effective thanks to good reads and timing. She had 98 kills as a West Branch freshman last season, and a breakout season in 2026 seems likely.

Ramler was a big reason why the Rockets claimed second place at the Iowa Regional. She flashed that ability again during the USAV Junior Nationals while competing in the difficult National Division. Ramler is an explosive athlete that rises up on the vertical and creates power in her swing from the opposite pin. The traits that lead to success on the attack also aid in throwing up a strong block. Her contributions to a team that thrived on defense were significant. Her skill set also would work at outside hitter.

Pfab hit my radar when scouting a January tournament in Milwaukee. She continued building her reputation as one of the top players in Iowa's 2030 Class throughout the club campaign. On the sport's biggest stage at the USSV Junior Nationals, Pfab always was among the most talented kids on the court. A tall, powerful presence on the right side of the net, she impacts matches with a mighty lefty swing that decisively ends points and with the ability to thwart opposing attacks with an imposing block.

A season that ended with a coveted trip to the USAV Junior Nationals will be one to remember for Adrenaline 14s. The group introduced a roster filled with players we'll hear about in the high school ranks. Ridgway firmly belonged in that group. She was playing six rotations as an opposite pin. A good athlete with leaping ability, Ridgway provides power on the right side. She adjusts well to the ball and contorts her body in maximizing her swing. With lateral quickness and sharp reflexes, Ridgway defends well in the back row and at the net.

Iowa Juniors is a program that does well in developing players despite not being a big name in a crowded Central Iowa club volleyball scene. It competes hard in tournaments against those other programs. Its 14s made it all the way to the USAV Junior Nationals this year. Hinshaw stood out with her performance at right-side hitter. She can jump and generates impressive velocity in her swing. Hinshaw sees the court well and positions herself properly when throwing up a block. She's capable of attacking on the outside, too.
