Stock Up Prospects Setting Sights on Fall HS Season

Among the athletes at the WA Stock Up Showcase, a handful of rising juniors and seniors will return to their high school programs this fall with high aspirations both individually and for their team, including goals to get back to the state tournament. The following athletes are among those that engaged well with confidence in their action and in displaying some of the most important qualities all programs need. With their hustle, consistent effort, and competitive energy, these prospects shined throughout the session.    A rising senor for Holy Names Academy, Beck was fun to watch because she played freely throughout the session in using her full range of tools as an outside hitter. Her execution and contributions displayed her ability to aggressively challenge the defense at the net while also movng the ball around with some range in her finish. Her favorite part of her volleyball experience includes the connections she continues to make while some of her goals include to futher develop more torque when attacking and improving her vision of the block     Hunthausen had an impressive session for a variety of reasons. Offensively, she displayed good arm control with the ability to move the ball around based on what she saw in the defense on the other side of the net. Additionally, this touch she showed was complimented by a handful of big swings that scored with the force she put behind the ball. She also had good moments in the first-contact phase both defensively and serve receive as a six-rotation athlete. What she loves most about the game is celebrating teammates.     Millenaar (*pictured) is a rising junior at Stanwood HS, a 3A state qualifying program in 2025. At 6'2, she played primarily in the middle throughout the session although she has experience performing at the right pin and making good contributions on boths sides of the ball with her length. Her movement around the court and her setters was fluid and assertive to get herself available to be an option offensively and swing at the top of her jump and reach. She likes the game for the competition and has a goal for the fall to help the Spartans get back to the state tournament.     Nimmergut has continued to grow her game and looks very comfortable as a rising junior and veteran setter for her Roosevelt HS team as they look to repeat qualifying for the WA state tournament in 2026. Her level demeanor is a key part of her command of the court as she doesn't get too high or low emotionally while sustaining her effort and communication with those around her. Her footwork is efficient and allows her to get balanced to finish her movement and extension in all directions.     Heng was a noticeable athlete from the start among the many setters that were at this event. She is athletic, showcased quick mobility, and established her connections right away with her effort and communication among many players she's never seen or played with before. I liked her simple touch at the point of contact, which she establishes well in how she pursues the ball with her speed and footwork. The Bonney Lake HS rising sophomore was a top setter at this showcase while indicating she loves meeting new players and getting exposed to other athletes that help her game to improve.
