USAV GJNC Showcase Session II Top Performers Vol 2

Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the Girls Junior National Championship Showcase Session II, held at the Indiana Convention Center on June 29th. The event brought together athletes from across the nation looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors based on what they showed on the court.    [player_tooltip player_id='443032' first='Madeleine' last='Luedeker'] earned her Top Performer award by being useful in more than one way, which is exactly what her profile as both a setter and right side hitter promises. Her footwork getting to the ball as a setter was clean throughout the day, and the variety she showed in her tempo calls gave her hitters real options rather than predictable patterns. When she stepped in on the right side, she attacked with intention and did not shy away from balls that required timing adjustments. Court coaches noted her composure in both roles and the ease with which she transitioned between them depending on what the system needed. She is on the Prep Dig Texas official watch list and the performance she put together in Indianapolis gave that recognition something concrete to stand on. [player_tooltip player_id='960604' first='Rhyan' last='Roby'] was one of the steadier outside hitters on the floor throughout the June 29th session. At 5'9", she attacked with length and timing from the left pin and found angles that kept the defense honest rather than forcing the same shot repeatedly. Her serve receive platform was disciplined, and she stayed in the back row without the mechanical lapses that tend to show up in younger players when the pace of the game increases. Court coaches pointed to her consistency as the defining quality of her performance, not one big moment but a series of solid, well-executed plays that added up across every segment of the day. She competed with confidence and kept her energy level steady from start to finish, which earned her the recognition she walked away with. Avery Sundberg traveled further than just about anyone else in the building to get to Indianapolis, and she made every mile worth it. The 5'7" libero was quick and decisive in the back row, reading attacks early and getting her platform under balls that most defenders at this level give up on before they take a step. Her court coverage was exceptional throughout both the skill segments and the scrimmage competition, and the composure she showed handling pace from hitters she had never seen before was the quality court coaches kept coming back to when they talked about her performance. She communicated well, competed with genuine edge, and brought the kind of defensive energy that lifts everyone around her. College coaches who were in that gym on June 29th left with her name written down. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase.
