Rhyan Roby Rhyan Roby 5'8" | OH/DS/L Hamilton Southeastern | 2029 IN is the type of athlete who makes everyone around her better. At 5’8″, she plays much bigger because of her athleticism, bounce, and willingness to attack every opportunity. She was one of the hardest workers in the gym, bringing the same intensity for the entire two-hour session, and it was clear that teammates gravitated toward her energy and loved playing alongside her. Offensively, she was consistently aggressive and was one of the best pin hitters at terminating down the line, using her ability to jump and hit over the block to her advantage. As she continues to develop, I’d like to see her trust her athleticism more when blocking and avoid reaching outside her body, because she has the jump and timing to be a big defensive presence at the net. Her competitiveness, leadership, and offensive confidence make her a player who is easy to root for and one worth keeping an eye on.

Rhyan Roby Rhyan Roby 5'8" | OH/DS/L Hamilton Southeastern | 2029 IN was one of the steadier outside hitters on the floor throughout the June 29th session. At 5’9″, she attacked with length and timing from the left pin and found angles that kept the defense honest rather than forcing the same shot repeatedly. Her serve receive platform was disciplined, and she stayed in the back row without the mechanical lapses that tend to show up in younger players when the pace of the game increases. Court coaches pointed to her consistency as the defining quality of her performance, not one big moment but a series of solid, well-executed plays that added up across every segment of the day. She competed with confidence and kept her energy level steady from start to finish, which earned her the recognition she walked away with. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase. 

As the daughter of a Super Bowl winner, Rhyan is fully familiar with work ethic, the inside of a weight room and an athletic relentlessness that knows no end. Miss Roby’s ability to dig deep into her bottomless well of energy and stamina is her calling card, and that well served her well all week here in Indy. Hitting high and hard constantly and consistently, Rhyan is one of those undersized outsides that always find their way onto rosters and, with continued work, will find committing to a next-level program easier than most because of that relentlessness.
