The 2026 Michigan Freshman Showcase took place on Sunday and we had nearly 70 2030 prospects on hand in Pontiac, displaying their talents.

This could be a very special class and many of the best were on hand.

Here's the third set of player evaluations from Sunday's Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='1007820' first='Elodie' last='Schreurs'], OH Portage Northern/FaR Out

Schreurs has a lot of range at the net with her long frame. She times out her block attempts well to disrupt a lot of opposing attacks. When on the offensive, Schreurs also uses good timing to stay above the blockers and get up to the ball. I think there's a lot of potential for her to be even more disruptive in the years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='1007880' first='Mackenzie' last='Sharp'], MH Lowell/FaR Out

Sharp brought the intensity to the Showcase, and it led to some really impressive play. She wasn't backing down from any opponent on the other side and went after every ball she could. She wanted the ball to come to her so she could display her big power and solid footwork.

[player_tooltip player_id='984451' first='Cate' last='Verkeyn'], OH Mercy/Legacy

I was excited to see Verkeyn compete after her impressive club season and she didn't disappoint. She has incredible explosiveness that combines with a 6-foot frame to make some devastating attacks. I'm not sure there was a more consistently powerful hitter. On top of that, she makes some very agile defensive plays that makes her a top 2030 prospect nationally.

[player_tooltip player_id='938309' first='Juliet' last='Berishaj'], RS Eisenhower/Legacy

Speaking of power hitters, Berishaj was one of the most powerful hitters at this Showcase. Berishaj gets over the top of the ball to get sharp attack angles that are incredibly difficult to dig up. What makes it all the more impressive is that these attacks seem rather effortless for her. Her play seems very seamless.

[player_tooltip player_id='1008059' first='Alana' last='Klisz'], MB Northville/Legacy

Klisz brings steady power in the middle and does it with a short and compact swing. She has high level length for being 5'11”, which allows her to wait on the ball and see openings on the floor late into her wind up. As Klisz gets more reps against top talent, it should bring out another level to her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='622403' first='Petra' last='Townsend'], RS Pioneer/Legacy

You can't help but notice Townsend on the floor. At 6'2”, she stands taller than most, but she's also got a lot of quickness and agility. She can change direction in a flash and not lose any momentum, while delivering on a technically smooth swing that creates a lot of fireworks. Townsend looks very calm and collected on the floor. She's certain to be one of the dominant hitters in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1008274' first='Londyn' last='Cottrill'], OH Milford/Legacy

Cottrill has a 6'1” frame, but uses it to be a well-balanced player that can play at a high level defensively, as well as on the attack. Her back-row attacks look as smooth as her swings at the net. As the Showcase went on, Cottrill seemed to find another gear in her attack and put down some impressive shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1008391' first='Brooklyn' last='Barriger'], DS/L Lowell/FaR Out

Barriger was a prospect comfortable taking the lead, which is key for a young libero. She spoke up and wasn't afraid to direct traffic for her peers. Her play has been at a high level for a while and that continued. She passed at a high rate and was very accurate in her serve receive.

[player_tooltip player_id='961829' first='Alison' last='Graff'], DS/L Marian/Michigan Elite

Graff brings a lot of explosiveness to the libero position. When she got opportunities to showcase her offensive abilities, she was able to turn some heads. It also showed in her serving ability. Defensively, Graf gave great effort and showed she was willing to leave it all on the floor to make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1008477' first='Abigail' last='Koyl'], DS/L OLSM/Legacy

Koyl has a lot of quickness and communicates well, two key aspects of being a standout defender. She was never caught in the same spot for more than a second, staying light on her feet while still keeping herself in good position to be able to square up to an attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='1008784' first='Georgia' last='Glynn'], RS Mercy/High Performance

Glynn is a potent left-handed hitter that likes to take aggressive attack angles. She isn't afraid to try and push the ball on the boundaries. Glynn also showed the ability to adjust well to the various blockers she was up against and the various setters she worked with. She always tried to make a competitive play when the ball came her way.

The 2026 Michigan Freshman Showcase took place on Sunday and we had nearly 70 2030 prospects on hand in Pontiac, displaying their talents.
