2029s Taking Control Of The Game- Part 2

Moving on to part two of the class of 2029, which is probably one of the most fun classes to write about. This class has so much incredible talent and quite the depth. [player_tooltip player_id='781517' first='Hadassah' last='Smith'] was another high-performing freshman last year. In the 2025 season, Smith finished as one of Cedar Falls' top scorers and blockers. When it comes to making big plays, Hadassah is the player to watch, with the power and precision she brings to her gameplay at the net. Smith is definitely one of the primo hitters you can trust to get the job done in tight situations.     [player_tooltip player_id='765738' first='Paetyn' last='Peterson'] is a reliable setter/ right side who can truly do it all. Between her athleticism, height, and IQ, Paetyn is a reliable scorer and a huge playmaker. The setter from Pleasant Valley has showcased her versatility, from running a smooth offense to taking big rips on the pin and putting up bigger blocks.     Van Auken is a fearless competitor who will do everything in her power to get the ball up. Don't let her size fool you; this girl can cover an insane amount of ground with her speed mixed with relentlessness. She does an amazing job of getting under the ball and doubles down on getting clean first touches for her setter. She is one that can make going up against some of the top hitters look easy.     [player_tooltip player_id='894302' first='Taylor' last='Billhorn'] is a powerhouse of a middle who knows how to put a ball down. The first time I saw Taylor was last school season, and she was a strong piece for Wilton. But she's also grown so much throughout the year. Not only have her skills grown, but her IQ and court awareness have excelled. Billhorn is on track to make a great name for herself this year.     [player_tooltip player_id='826318' first='Norah' last='Blanchard'] is a setter who doesn't make a whole lot of flashy plays, but she knows how to get the job done. You can always rely on her to put her team first and make the best moves. In tight situations, Blanchard knows how to step up and lead her team to success. Norah is going to be an athlete that you'll be hearing more of throughout the year.     Havanna is an insane six-rotation outside with so many amazing qualities. The most notable part of her gameplay is the level of maturity she plays with, especially at the net. She does a phenomenal job of staying two steps ahead of her opponents by reading the players and making the best decisions. Dolbare is definitely a showstopper, and I'm excited to see how she contributes this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1020714' first='Aubrey' last='Birkel'] is a player who I think is a little underrated and definitely not talked about enough. Although she's not the flashiest player, she knows how to put a ball away. Not only can she jump out of the gym, but she pairs it with an insane swing and a fast snap of the wrist. Birkel does an amazing job taking up space on the court and always making clean contact with the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='754551' first='Zane' last='Ehler'] is another standout sophomore whom everyone knows well. Ehler's gameplay is unlike most; she has all of the characteristics that you look for at the next level. She is the epitome of a leader and knows how to score. She has done a fantastic job leading her club teams to success throughout the years by not only growing as a player and person, but also by pushing her teammates to better themselves. Zane has already made quite a name for herself going into her sophomore season and is still growing.     Kerby is another pin that can and should definitely be talked about more. Germann is an extremely well-rounded, six-rotation player with a very high upside. Although she's slightly undersized compared to some high-end pins, she still finds ways to stand out amongst most. She focuses on a clean first contact on serve receive and defense. Offensively, she knows how to move the ball around and always finds a way to score.     [player_tooltip player_id='754657' first='Cyan' last='Blommer'] is another athlete everyone knows and that everyone loves watching. Her ability to find every inch of the court is mind-blowing. She is another athlete whose IQ and gameplay are on a whole other level compared to other sophomores. Cyan is a player who very quickly makes heads turn with her ball control, flashy plays, and power with every swing. Blommer will definitely be in the running for the top-ranked player in Iowa.
