In the back row, she stayed connected to the rally, prepared herself early and continued working to give her group another playable contact. Defensive specialists are often asked to do their best work without the reward of a kill at the end of it, and Kennedy embraced that responsibility. She pursued balls, reset quickly and continued making herself available rather than assuming someone else would take responsibility for the next contact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was maturity in that approach. Defense requires patience because not every read produces a spectacular dig, and not every good decision ends up in the stat line. Kennedy continued working anyway. She showed the willingness to contribute through effort, positioning and the small details that help an offense get another chance to run. As she continues developing her serve receive and defensive range, that dependable mindset can become one of the strongest parts of her game.
