Carlisle County at Marshall County Takeaways

Marshall County has some players that have developed some of those habits during club season and it has shown early on in the 3-0 start. The Marshals downed the visiting Carlisle County Comets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-19) on Tuesday in 1st Region action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Marshall County libero [player_tooltip player_id='932258' first='Elin' last='Denflip'] often started things with strong first touches then [player_tooltip player_id='484426' first='Emma-Leigh' last='Reynolds'] dished out the assists in Marshall County's balanced 5-1 attack. Lilli Perry had some nice swings late and [player_tooltip player_id='910576' first='Olivia' last='Curtner'] also made some nice saves. "We're really focusing on serve receive and the fundamentals and everything including all around. We focus a lot on the first touches on serve receive and defense because if we don't have those first touches, we can't run our offense. Denflip keeps her arms above her waist and has developed a nice platform for first contacts. She stops in her tracks and only slides out of necessity. Denflip made some solid saves that led to key points for Marshall County. She mixes up her shots well and does a nice job attacking holes in double blocks and seams with precision. Redden has a nice vertical allowing her to hit over and around blocks. Redden also made her fair share of nice first contacts to make sure Marshall County got into a good rhythm. Reynolds has good touches and puts balls on targets to the hitters can terminate balls. She's developed a good rhythm not locking her arms. Reynolds makes good decisions and involves a number of hitters so opponents can't key on one hitter. Yates steps forward with a strong attack approach, extension and finish to put balls down for big points for Marshall County. Yates made a number of sound passes. She is trying to expand her game to hitting from the back row. She did not connect on any pipe plays in the game, but she'll take her game to a whole new level once she starts connecting on them consistently. Von Bokel puts down overpassed balls with authority. She executed some quicks in the victory and connected on some other swings throughout the game. Dunn made a number of nice plays trying to help the Comets win. Dunn forms walls around balls to consistently make nice two to three-point plays.
