Use code: Nevada30 to save 30% off your subscription.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">🏐 August – Dead Period</h2>   The recruiting calendar enters a Dead Period, meaning college coaches are not permitted to have in-person recruiting contact or respond to recruiting communication during this time.   That does not mean you should stop recruiting yourself.   Continue emailing coaches with:   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Your upcoming schedule</li>   <li>Updated highlight film</li>   <li>New statistics and accomplishments</li>   <li>Academic updates</li> </ul>   If you don't receive a response this month, don't assume a coach isn't interested. They may simply be following NCAA recruiting rules and will respond once the dead period ends.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">This month…your final high school season begins</h2>   This is the start of your FINAL high school season. Make every match count.   Film everything. Record full matches—not just highlights. You can always cut and edit clips later, but you can never recreate a great performance that wasn't filmed.   If you don't already have a college list, build it now. Research rosters, coaching staffs, majors, and recruiting needs. Your list should include:   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Schools you're genuinely interested in</li>   <li>Colleges that offer your intended major</li>   <li>In-state and out-of-state programs</li>   <li>Multiple divisions (NJCAA, NCAA I, II, III, and NAIA)</li> </ul>   Senior year is not the time to be overly picky. Be open-minded and realistic. You can absolutely have a few non-negotiables, but if your goal is to continue playing at the collegiate level, you may need to compromise on factors like location, division, or school size.   The athletes who keep an open mind often discover opportunities they never expected—and many end up finding the perfect fit.   Goal: Compete like every match matters, film every opportunity, and actively recruit yourself throughout the season.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">✅ August To-Do List</h2>   □ Review the complete list of colleges that offer women's volleyball.   □ Create a Recruiting Tracker to organize your recruiting process. Include every school, coach, email sent, responses received, follow-up dates, and important recruiting notes.   □ Email 3–5 college coaches every day. Start with your top-choice schools, then work your way down your list.   □ Research new schools by searching for colleges that offer women's volleyball and your intended major—even if you've never heard of the school before.   □ Review team rosters. Look for:   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Programs graduating several seniors.</li>   <li>Teams with limited depth at your position.</li>   <li>Schools that may have immediate recruiting needs.</li> </ul>   □ Upload all full-match film to YouTube (unlisted is fine) so coaches can easily watch your matches.   □ Create or update your highlight video with your newest senior-season clips.   □ Update your recruiting profiles (Hudl, SportsRecruits, NCSA, etc.) with your current schedule, statistics, academics, contact information, and highlight film.   □ Follow the volleyball programs you're interested in on social media to stay informed about camps, roster changes, and recruiting updates.   □ Stay on top of your grades. Admissions and academic scholarships can create additional opportunities.   □ Set aside one day each week to follow up with coaches who haven't responded.
