Here come the positional breakdowns! We spend a ton of time on the rankings, but let's dive a little deeper into what we see. Yes, there are 20+ commitments in the class of ‘28, but there are SO many more than are uncommitted at this time, and colleges will come calling for this group of five sooner rather than later. Here are five from around the state that crush it from the pins and can make a difference in their recruiting value moving forward.

Able to run a quicker-than-average offense AND crush it left-handed from the right side, Addison is one of those hybrid players that plays high-level ball from multiple positions. Think of the possibilities—-set in a 5-1 full-time, set in the back row of a 6-2 and attack from the front row, be a full-time lefty right side—-be creative with this young lady, because she can do it all, and with a serious amount of deception, skill and terminability.

Compact and explosive, Blaine is a lightning-in-a-bottle type of attacker who can take over a match if you let her. A work-horse within the 900 square feet, Miss Adams seemingly NEVER gets tired, and does best when the pressure is on late in matches. Training with Cathedral and Circle year-round, she's more than accustomed to high-level, high-pressure situations, and has already medaled at open-level GJNCs in her young career. Now as a rising junior, she's one of the more athletic attackers in this class, and should see more eyeballs coming her way this year.

Easily the highest leaper in this CLASS, let alone today's article, Amaya continues to add to her skill set every time I see her play. Need a side out? Done. How about something out-of-system where she takes advantage of an opponent's weakness? Sure. Play all the way around and attack or pass from anywhere? You got it. Over the last couple of years, Amaya's career has filled out to the point where she's fine-tuning the stuff she's already good at. Not too many athletes in this state are there yet, if any.

The lengthiest on this list, Elle has been playing up for a bit at PHP, and travels a long way to get some of the best training in the Midwest. Even though she started her career in the middle because of her early size, Elle is clearly a pin attacker, and can terminate at will because of her high attack touch and high volleyball IQ. I like the fact that she's getting steadily better at all parts of the game—-passing, defending, attacking and volleyball acuity—-while playing such a tough, open-level club schedule. She's D1-ready, and will be a force when the fall of ‘28 comes around.

One of my favorites in this (or any) class, Elena is a big lefty banger on the right side that uses her physicality and overall strength to beat smaller and less disciplined blockers. She split some playing time at TI this past spring, but when she did play, her effectiveness and presence were immediately felt. I look forward to this fall, where the Dragons will definitely need Miss Cook to lead both offensively and emotionally.
