Players of the Week: Kaminshine and Cameron Shine

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first week of the season is in the books, and there was no shortage of big performances across the state. Each week, I am going to highlight a couple of players who stood out with their play and, more importantly, helped their teams win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the opening week, I'm heading to Northwest Arkansas. Greenwood's [player_tooltip player_id='775399' first='Riley' last='Kaminshine'] and Har-Ber's [player_tooltip player_id='771153' first='Beaux' last='Cameron'] both filled up the stat sheet against some very good competition. Against Fayetteville, she put down 13 kills while hitting .423, then added 8 kills against Mena and another 8 in a five-set win over Conway. Not bad for your first varsity action facing two 6A powerhouses. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the week, Kaminshine finished with 29 kills, 26 digs, 5 aces, 7 assists, and 2 blocks. Riley was able to make her presence felt in a variety of ways for the Bulldogs. She stepped up with kills from the pin when needed, was a solid defender and set well against Conway. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The five-set win over Conway was a nice way to cap the week. Greenwood needed players to make plays late, and Riley was right in the middle of it. She opened the season with 19 kills while hitting .389 against Southside, then followed that with another 13 kills in a shocker over Fayetteville. After an incredible freshman season where Beaux racked up 289 kills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the week, Cameron totaled 32 kills, 16 digs, 7 blocks, and 2 aces in just six sets. That's over five kills per set against two quality 6A opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Beaux has never been afraid to take a big swing, and that certainly hasn't changed. But she's also giving Har-Ber production on the back row and at the net defensively. 32 kills is a pretty strong way to start the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
