It seems necessary to convey the annual surprise that another season is upon us, however.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We received a peek at teams competing in the&nbsp;<a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/08/stock-risers-from-prep-dig-iowa-sizzle-2026/">Prep Dig Iowa Sizzle</a>. They and others around state have committed to improvement in pursuit of realizing dreams in November.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Iowa will get you ready for the new campaign with content leading up the first point. Here's a closer look at players to watch in one of the state's top leagues, the Mississippi Athletic Conference:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='555746' first='Clare' last='Yeggy'], MH/OH, Pleasant Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's been a meteoric rise on the development path for Yeggy during the last year. She stood out for the regional champs at Iowa United this club campaign after helping Pleasant Valley back to the state tournament last fall. She hit .347 in racking up 207 kills, a percentage that ranked fifth in the MAC. Her 75.0 blocks were the fourth most in the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='742600' first='Piper' last='Hodge'], DS/L, Assumption</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hodge was one of the state's biggest breakouts last season. She stepped into the jersey for a team that marched all the way to a Class 3A title, performing beyond her years with nerves of steel in the back row. Hodge moves into a leadership role as a junior for the defending champs, who have a talented but inexperienced roster overall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://www.gobound.com/direct/teams/h20222175845b1d1c81ccb3b4347a340/show">[player_tooltip player_id='575805' first='Dyllan' last='Harn']</a>, OH, Bettendorf</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Harn has been a key cog in the Bettendorf operation since she was a freshman during the 2024 season. Now a junior, she's coming off of an injury that cost her time during the club year. When healthy, Harn is one of the better all-round players on the court most nights. She brings a big vertical leap and heavy swing to the pin. Her work in the back row is sound. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='759979' first='Julianna' last='Montez'], DS/L, Muscatine</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Montez has been a steady presence on the Muscatine varsity the last two seasons. As a sophomore in '24, she shined at setter with 371 assists and 93 kills. Last year, Montez moved to libero and led the team with 270 digs. She's a smart volleyballer that does whatever she can to help her teams be successful.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='902809' first='Kamilah' last='Eller'], OH, North Scott</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eller is the leader in kills among returners from last year's Class 4A state championship team at North Scott. A super all-around athlete, she earned first-team all-conference recognition in softball this summer. Eller is an explosive athlete with bounce off of the floor, good hang time and a big swing. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='493657' first='Addison' last='Allaman'], DS/L, Pleasant Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Allaman slid seamlessly into the starting libero role for a Pleasant Valley outfit that went back to the state tournament last season. She ranked sixth in the conference with 265 digs. Allaman is coming off a strong club campaign with an Iowa United team that won a regional title and qualified for the USAV Nationals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
