I've watched these players through high school, club, showcases, and everything in between, and a lot has shifted since we started evaluating this group.

These five have made a statement, but more than that, their games have clearly improved over the past years. They've gotten stronger, added pieces to their game, and kept showing up when we've had another chance to evaluate them.

Rankings should reflect what players are showing us right now, and these five earned their move.

Here are five 2028s who made some of the biggest jumps in our latest South Dakota rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='749961' first='Reagan' last='Bischoff'] is a heck of a volleyball player, and "setter" is only part of what makes her so good. She gets the ball out cleanly, keeps her hitters involved, and has gotten sharper with her location, but I notice just as much when she's playing defense. Bischoff reads the court, gets after balls, and isn't afraid to hit the floor to extend a rally. She's quick enough to turn a tough first contact into a playable second ball and then turn around and make the defensive play on the next point. There is just a lot of volleyball in her game. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='753570' first='Libby' last='Kranz'] looks different on the pin than she did a year ago. She's seeing more before she swings and isn't trying to beat every block the same way. Kranz can still put speed behind the ball, but now you'll see her work the hands, find open court, or change the shot when the defense takes something away. She's getting into transition and putting herself in position to take another good swing instead of being one-and-done in a rally. The arm is there, but it's the variety she's starting to play with that has changed her game. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='790066' first='Torrence' last='Tipton'] has made one of the more impressive jumps in this class. She's playing with real speed through the middle now, getting off the net quickly, beating the block into transition and making herself a legitimate option instead of waiting for the offense to come her way. Her timing has sharpened, and when she establishes herself early, she puts pressure on opposing middles to stay with her. The blocking side has taken a jump too. Tipton is reading sooner, closing space and getting her hands across rather than relying on size alone. The physical tools were always intriguing. Now the middle play is starting to match them, and that changes the level of player we're evaluating. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

A year ago, I noticed [player_tooltip player_id='753593' first='Adi' last='Egge']'s setting. Now I'm noticing her decisions. That's a pretty important jump at this position. Egge is getting her feet to the ball and giving her hitters a consistent location, but she's also reading what's happening across the net and making choices from it. She'll change where she's going, recognize a matchup, and isn't afraid to go back to a hitter when something is working. The second contact feels less like simply delivering the ball and more like Egge is actually directing what happens next. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

The powerful swing isn't [player_tooltip player_id='876150' first='Hannah' last='Drake']'s only answer anymore, and that's probably the biggest difference I've seen in her game. She can still get after a ball and put pace through the court, but she's doing a better job seeing what's waiting for her on the other side of the net. Drake will use her hands, find space, and adjust when the block takes away her first option. She also gets herself back into transition and stays available for another swing. Having more than one way to finish a point has made her a much tougher pin to defend. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

Thank you to all my readers for making this journey possible.
