New rankings update means new stock risers. Who were the athletes that did the most in increasing their recruitable stock? Who needs to do more? Where are they from, and what did they do to get their stock to rise? All of those answers are unique to each athlete, but only five answer them the best in this update. Here they are, from five different clubs from around the state.

Already fully capable of being THAT girl for the next level, Evie is an exceptional answer to, “what should a libero look like?” With a calm platform, intentional and fast feet and a coach's mentality within the 900 square feet, Miss Ellis has already earned multiple honors from many different publications on her skill set. The heiress apparent at 4A runners-up Plainfield from a year ago, Evie is the model for what you should expect from a libero, full stop.

There are plenty of over-six-feet kids to watch in multiple classes here in Indiana. But who actually USES their size to their advantage? Insert Alana, whose length is her strength on both offense and defense. Her attack touch is quite high with a quick whip at the point of attack, and her blocking technique presses across the net rather than just going high. Yes, there are a lot of options to look at in this class in the middle. Yet very few have the combination of size AND the knowledge of what to do with it like Alana.

Springy and quick with a hammer for a right shoulder, Emily can hit all the angles with pace in every situation. Keeping the ball in front of her on the attack, her ability to read the court and take what the defense gives her sets her apart from other pin attackers in this class. Don't look at her size as a deterrent; her jumping ability more than makes up for it, and watching her set solid blocks regularly is proof of that fact. I like quick kids on the pins—-they can adjust to less-than-perfect sets, and know what to do when a point is needed.

A strong and consistent M2 at Rev this past season, Blakely transitions quickly, gets up quickly, and terminates quickly. Although her size as listed as under six feet, those long arms and legs of hers make her look much taller. Add some solid athleticism and above-average jumping ability, and you've got the perfect embodiment of what an M2 can do.

If you're going to be a passer in the state of Indiana. Do ALL of the skills well. Miss Osborn can do exactly that. Receiving serve is her specialty, with a solid base, quick feet and a quiet platform. On defense, she's one of the better read-and-react kids out there, and the energy she brings to the court is infectious. Tucked away at Columbus East, this Academy product will be seeing a lot more attention in the coming year, and I wouldn't be surprised if her stock rose even more with the next rankings update.
