Our coveage in the 2026 season couldn't have started better, as we got to attend an outstanding non-district match on Tuesday, August 11, which had the Memorial Mustangs overlasting the Seven Lakes Spartans to win 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-19, 23-21) in Katy and get their season started with a massive road victory.

An ace makes the difference as @MustangVBall come out on top in a thriller, winning set five 23-21 and the match against @7LakesVBnews 3-2. What a way to start the season! Photos and match report coming soon at @PDTexas. pic.twitter.com/PfbY30Yvep

Harting was pivotal in Memorial's victory, going beyond her role as a setter to impact the game in different ways for the Mustangs. The junior's distribution was impeccable, as she managed to keep all of her hitters involved and efficient, making it very hard for Seven Lakes to anticipate her moves. Harting had good passing to work with for most of the time, but when that wasn't the case, she did a great job of moving to the ball and getting it to the pins with remarkable accuracy. She also took hitting duties for the Mustangs when at the net, coming up big in key moments to make the most of her vision and put the ball down.
