Harting was another player who stood out in different areas of the game. Splitting her time between setting and hitting duties on the right, the sophomore was also her team’s heart, playing with a lot of passion, but remaining calm in moments of pressure. Harting excelled with her playmaking, distributing the ball intelligently and speeding things up when possible. Her offense was very efficient as she displayed excellent vision to avoid opposing blockers, and the setter also got to contribute on the backcourt, playing solid defense and creating problems for Stratford’s serve-receive with her aggressive floaters.

Miss Harting is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 class according to our Texas State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Memorial High School and also for the Houston Juniors volleyball club.  Tay proved to be a highly skilled setter as she dished the ball pretty evenly to all of her hitters.  During the position specific skills session, I loved how she was connecting with the middles who were running quick sets.  While some players look great during the position drills and cannot transition those skills to game situations, this was not the case for Taylor.  There was no drop off with her delivery during the scrimmages.  Her posture during her release looked awesome and that was due to some great footwork as she tracked down the pass/dig from her back row.  Her court coach had some very positive things to say about her teamwork and attitude.  This speaks volumes since not all of the players knew each other and that makes it tough to compete with chemistry.  We loved what we saw from her and will be following her volleyball journey.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase. 

Harting is a setter with Memorial High School and the Houston Juniors club. She has excellent setting hands and is capable of remaining accurate with her locations in all positions. Harting also offers a lot on defense as she does a great job with her positioning at the right back position and has tremendous ball control to deal with hard-driven swings. The setter can also take on hitting duties on the right and relies on her great court vision and impressive wrist to find open spots to put the ball down.
