The Future is Here - Dallas Up Next Top Performers Vol 4

Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! We had a big event that was held at the Courtside Sports Center on August 8th. The Dallas Up Next showcase for the middle school classes was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors at the Dallas Up Next showcase.    Court coaches who watched the middle blocker group at the Up Next Dallas Showcase were talking about [player_tooltip player_id='996815' first='Cambria' last='Francois'] before the scrimmage portion of the day had even started. Her footwork was the first thing that caught our attention, specifically the way she waited to read the set before committing her first step rather than gambling early and leaving herself out of position. That kind of patience at the net is one of the hardest things to teach and she already has it. She moved between the middle and right side positions throughout the day without losing a step in either role and the physicality she brought to the net in both spots was genuinely impressive for a player who has not started her high school career yet. The class of 2031 in the DFW area has some real talent at this position. Francois belongs in that conversation. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     There is a version of the libero position that is loud and flashy and there is a version that just works. [player_tooltip player_id='1004749' first='Brynlee' last='Wilson'] does the second one and does it consistently. Her platform mechanics throughout the Up Next Dallas Showcase were technically clean in a way that is not common for players in her class year, keeping the ball in front of her body and tracking it through contact rather than poking at it as an afterthought. Her reads were dependable and she rarely needed to scramble because she was already moving in the right direction before the hitter made contact. She kept her back row organized and vocal throughout both sessions and the steadiness she brought to the floor gave the players around her something to rely on. For a middle schooler, that composure is worth noting. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     What makes a player like Emme Dellenbach interesting to evaluate is that she creates problems regardless of which position she is playing. When she is setting, her height generates a release point that blockers have a difficult time reading clearly. When she steps to the right side, she brings length to the attack that the defense has to account for in a completely different way. Throughout the Up Next Dallas Showcase she showed enough in both roles to make the question of which position she ultimately plays a genuinely interesting one. Her tempo awareness as a setter was ahead of where most 2031 players are and her footwork to difficult passes was efficient and unhurried. She competes with a quiet confidence and the players around her responded to it all day. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
