The Future is Here – Dallas Up Next Top Performers Vol 6

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back!  We had a big event that was held at the Courtside Sports Center on August 8^th.  The Dallas Up Next showcase for the middle school classes was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. [player_tooltip player_id='1007761' first='Elizabeth' last='Mason'] did. Her approach mechanics were technically sound and the swing she generated had real power behind it. When a set pulled her off her preferred spot she solved the problem with her footwork and found productive contact anyway. Court coaches watching the outside hitter group throughout the day kept coming back to the consistency she brought across every segment of the event. For a player this far from her high school career the ceiling question is a genuinely exciting one. I know that I will for sure be watching her growth over the next few years very closely and you should also. She plays outside hitter with the floor instincts of a libero and plays the back row with the competitive aggression of an attacker and the combination makes her one of the more interesting evaluations at any showcase she attends. She covered ground throughout the Up Next Dallas Showcase that had no business being covered given her listed height and she did it without drama, just quick reads and a first step that was already committed before most players had identified the threat. Every single contact mattered to her. That showed from the first drill to the last point of the day. [player_tooltip player_id='1009508' first='Renee' last='Richard'] is extremely dangerous. She read the block throughout the Up Next Dallas Showcase and adjusted her hand at contact rather than committing to the same shot regardless of what the defense showed her. The velocity she generated was real and the contact point was high enough to create problems for the other side of the net. She competes in the class of 2032 and carries herself with a sportsmanship and competitive character that made court coaches take note of her well beyond the production she put on the floor. I loved meeting her and will put her name down in my database of players to keep an eye on for the foreseeable future.
