What Wisconsin 2027s Are Going D2?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school season has just kicked off for these Wisconsin kids.&nbsp; The last go around. Wisconsin has always been a recruiting battleground for D2 schools throughout the Midwest.&nbsp; Parkside is the only D2 university in Wisconsin and we have plenty of athletes playing at that level to head to Parkside as well as other top notch programs.&nbsp; The Upper Midwest has some of the best D2 volleyball in the country.&nbsp; Here is a breakdown of athletes who are going D2 from Wisconsin.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>NSIC - Northern Sun&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There have been plenty of national champions and elite eight finishers that come from this conference with teams from Minnesota, Nebraska, and the Dakotas.&nbsp; Concordia-St. Paul, Wayne State, and St. Cloud State were consistently in the top ten in 2025.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='510424' first='Ava' last='Stuebs'] who has won two state titles at Manitowoc Lutheran will head to Concordia St. Paul who was the national runner up.&nbsp; Minnesota State Mankato traditionally recruits well from Wisconsin where they will bring [player_tooltip player_id='565640' first='Alexis' last='Halverson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='701235' first='Brooke' last='Dusek'] who have already racked up big careers for Barron and River Falls.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='827590' first='Paige' last='Hoelzel'] out of Neenah will head to Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, she is a dynamic middle who can control the net from pin to pin.&nbsp; Another middle is [player_tooltip player_id='549619' first='Brooke' last='Duveneck'] who will head to Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota.&nbsp; To even qualify for the conference tournament, teams are typically hovering around the top 25 in the country.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>GLVC&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='509331' first='Meghan' last='Bruss'] of Bay Port and [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] will be heading to Truman State located in Kirksville, Missouri in Northeast Missouri.&nbsp; She has been one of the top setters in Northeast Wisconsin being named Player of the Year in the Fox River Classic Conference.&nbsp; She was one of the setters on the Bay Port state tournament team in 2024 and was on the [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 18 Elite team who qualified for the 18 Open Division at USAV Nationals.&nbsp; She won't be the only Wisconsin or even Bay Port alum on the team.&nbsp; Kendra Shimon is a 2025 graduate of Bay Port and one of Bruss's former teammates who will be a sophomore at Truman State.&nbsp; The GLVC has teams from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>MIAA&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another conference that is among the best in D2, the MIAA has teams from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='762615' first='Mack' last='Dawes'] is a hard hitting attacker out of Germantown heading to Central Oklahoma.&nbsp; UCO has another Milwaukee area native in Myla Unterweger who prepped at Arrowhead.&nbsp; They were in the elite eight in 2024.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='501235' first='Stella' last='Mulder'] out of Wrightstown is a fiery outside hitter who will head to Northwest Missouri State located in Maryville, Missouri.&nbsp; The Bearcats are accustomed to championships where they have won titles in multiple sports.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>GLIAC&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This would be the conference that is in the closest proximity to Wisconsin athletes.
