Building Their Name: 2030s to Know Right Now

The Class of 2030 is already giving us plenty of players to keep on the radar. These athletes are young, but they are already showing skills that stand out when watching them compete. From attacking with power to reading the game at the net, this group is bringing a lot of different tools to the court.    Towns is an impressive young outside who already brings plenty of power to her attack. She does a nice job working with the flow of the ball instead of forcing every swing, and that allows her to stay controlled while still bringing heat. She also has a nice feel for changing up her shots. Towns can take a swing into the corner or work the line when she sees an opening. Her high reach gives her another advantage, and she moves naturally from one part of the play to the next. There is already a veteran feel to her game, and that should only continue to develop.     Arp brings a strong presence to the right side and already has a nice understanding of how to move within the offense. She does a great job working behind her setter, which helps open up space for the middle and forces blockers to make decisions. Her swing is another piece that stands out. Arp has a quick, snappy arm that can catch defenders off guard, especially when she gets the right matchup. She is learning how to use the entire court while staying connected to the flow of the offense, which is a great tool to have this early.     Marquez is bringing some seriously strong fundamentals to the back row. Her movement starts with a well-timed split step that gets her prepared to go in either direction. From there, she does a great job staying controlled through her movement and maintaining her platform. That combination makes her tough to take out of a rally. When Marquez gets into the right position, she gives herself a great chance to keep the ball playable and get it to her target. Additionally, she has a nice float serve that adds another skill to her game. There is a lot to like about her foundation.     Cox is showing exactly why middles should never be put into a box. She is not just staying at the net and waiting for her set. Cox is already running slides and doing it with confidence. Even more exciting, she can pass and then transition into an attack. That ability to contribute outside of the traditional middle role adds another layer to her game. At the net, Cox also does a nice job reading the hitter and getting herself in front of the attack to make a block. For a young middle, that versatility is fun to watch develop.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Names to Know</h2>   Towns, Arp, Marquez, and Cox are all showing different strengths, but they have one thing in common. They are already giving us reasons to pay attention.   The Class of 2030 has a long way to go, and that is what makes this group so exciting. There is plenty of time for these players to add new skills, gain experience, and continue developing their games.
