Weldon leads the team's senior class, providing contributions in almost every phase imaginable. She has been Platteview's most statistically productive blocker and moves well laterally to close from pin to pin. Her attacking range has seen perhaps the biggest jump through early-season action, upping Weldon's averages by about a kill per set over last year's mark. That near-0.400 attacking clip is ample evidence of Weldon's knack for scoring in front of the setter.

We're staying in the middle for this one. Daniels has been a standout at past Prep Dig Showcase events, particularly given her multi-position range in the front row. She primarily anchors the middle for Yutan, but the Chieftains won't hesitate to run Daniels on higher, slower sets. This varied approach has yielded incredible results, with Daniels logging 3.4 kills per set on a 0.383 hitting percentage. Yutan is out to prove that last year's semifinal breakthrough was no fluke, and Daniels can chart the return trip to Lincoln.

Bring on another familiar star from the state tournament circuit. The Tigers have brought back some familiar strategies this year, which include setting Spargo on the '2' ball and letting her operate.

We're always eager to cover small-town talents who carry their high-impact game to the club side, too. Taylor is a perfect example, as she just finished a stellar spring campaign with Premier Nebraska 16 Red. That journey culminated in a trip to GJNC, where Taylor refined her craft as a six-rotation left-side hitter with outstanding defensive instincts. Her influence persists with Auburn High. Taylor has guided the Bulldogs with four kills per set and is an indispensable member of the serve-receive pattern.

O'Neill's talent pool has exploded over the past few years, and Kallhoff is a good torchbearer for the 2028s. She was already on our radar heading into the year after amassing nearly 250 kills as a sophomore. Kallhoff has the rare distinction of being a southpaw attacker who does most of her work on the left antenna. This unorthodox combination has churned out 3.5 kills per set in Kallhoff's junior season, highlighted by an 18-kill effort against South Sioux City.

Sherbeyn has somehow raised her standards after posting a remarkable freshman campaign last fall. She was among Nebraska's leading first-year scorers in 2025, putting down over 400 kills for her Valentine crew. However, Sherbeyn is already on pace to eclipse that total after needing just 20 sets to reach triple-digit kills. Her 24-kill in this year's season opener set the tone, and Sherbeyn has catalyzed one of Valentine's best starts in recent memory.

We'll now visit the extreme southeast corner of the state, where Buckminster has become a household name for Falls City. Don't worry, we're still rolling out our small-town spotlights!

We've been overdue for a check-in with Nebraska's rural scene, especially with so many new powerhouse teams emerging around the prep circuit. Now that we have a solid sample size of matches from this year's fall season, a prominent group of stock risers has surfaced.

Frontcourt attackers are leading the pack, too. Nebraska's small-town scene is no stranger to high-volume scorers, and these athletes have perpetuated the tradition this fall.

Look out for the Louisville crew. The Lions have jumped out to a 7-1 start behind Harvey's team-leading onslaught at the outside hitter spot. Louisville has a balanced, efficient offense, but Harvey has established herself as the go-to when the team needs a quick sideout. Her 14 kills on a staggering 0.722 efficiency gives a glimpse of how much Harvey can climb in the sophomore hierarchy.
