Texas 2028 Firepower Exploding in the State Rankings

Her vertical is elite and her arm swing generates velocity that is nearly impossible to track from the defensive side of the net. She just paced the offense with 10 kills against Centennial and eight more against Poly Prep on the same day at the Durango Fall Classic in Las Vegas, earning All-Tournament recognition in the process. Rated 11th nationally in the class of 2028 by Prep Dig, she attacks with a lightning-fast swing that does not telegraph location, which keeps blockers guessing late on every set she touches. She plays with a relentless energy and communication level that makes her presence felt whether the ball is coming to her or not. Her ability to score from multiple positions on the court rather than relying on one preferred shot makes her genuinely difficult to scheme against as the match progresses. The 2028 class has real talent at the outside hitter position in Texas and Johnson belongs at the front of that conversation and the production she has already put on the board as a newcomer to a nationally ranked program only reinforces that case. Her volleyball IQ shapes how she uses that length, reading the block before her approach rather than committing to one shot and executing it regardless of what the defense shows. She competes with a team-first mentality that shows up in how she plays defense and communicates in the back row rather than conserving energy for her own swings. The grinding work ethic she brings to every rep has produced a technical foundation that holds up when the competition level rises. Her ability to contribute on the right side in addition to the left gives the offense a flexibility that creates real problems for opposing defensive systems. She is a player who impacts a match in more ways than the box score captures and the ranking she has earned reflects the full picture of what she brings to the floor every time she competes. I love watching her interact with her teammates because it shows someone who truly reflects the meaning of family. It is a decision that reflects how seriously she is pursuing her development at the national level. Her length at the left pin gives her access to attacking angles and a contact point that creates real problems for a standard block. She has been producing for a 6A Oklahoma program that has taken wins against quality competition throughout the early season, demonstrating that her game holds up consistently and not just in showcase settings. The physical upside still ahead of her makes the ceiling conversation a genuinely interesting one for any college staff that gets eyes on her now. Her willingness to travel in order to compete against the best available competition rather than staying comfortable at home is itself a signal about the competitive character she brings to the gym every day. College coaches in Texas and beyond who have not seen her compete in person should be looking for that opportunity before her recruitment develops without them.
