Texas 2028 State Ranking Stock Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The State Rankings release is here!!! We have unveiled the top 101 players in this latest publishing of the 2028 class. We have been watching the 2028 class very closely throughout the entire club &amp; high school season.  A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone's recruiting profiles.  We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects.  The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up in the rankings due to their individual performances. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["727293"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6abafdd6064c6"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Landry McRae has already distributed 420 assists this season on a nationally ranked roster and the production rate already surpasses half of everything she put up in all of 2025. She posted 52 assists, three digs, and a solo block in a single win over McKinney Boyd, which tells you she is doing more than just setting the ball. At 6'0", her release point creates genuine deception for blockers trying to identify tempo and location simultaneously. She earned All-Tournament recognition at the Allen Texas Open competing alongside some of the best players in North Texas. The tempo variety she has shown in running a high-level offense reflects a setter who is processing the game rather than reacting to it, and that quality at this age is not common. The ranking she has earned is the right recognition for a player who has been producing all season on one of the best rosters in the country. She went from 117 kills and 71 blocks as a sophomore to over 200 kills and nearly 120 blocks as a junior while earning second-team all-district recognition in one of the more competitive districts in the Houston area. Prep Dig scouts who watched her at a tournament specifically called her a dominant force at the net and when she is on the game looks different for every hitter on the other side. She is a USA Volleyball NTDP participant and an Under Armour Next Camp Series athlete, meaning the national development pipeline has already identified her as a priority. Her closing speed and the angle she takes to the block have both improved steadily as she has grown into the position, and the offensive efficiency she generates through the middle reflects a hitter who is making smart decisions rather than just swinging hard. The ranking she earned is overdue and the profile she is building in the 2028 class is one of the more compelling ones at the middle blocker position in Texas. The ball comes off her hands cleanly, her rhythm with hitters builds quickly, and she does not force anything regardless of what the pass gives her. At 5'10" she plays all the way around in a 5-1 and brings genuine blocking presence to the right side, which is a dimension most setters her age cannot provide. Her back row game is polished enough that it is never a liability and the serving efficiency she shows adds another layer to what she contributes outside of the second ball. The tempo variety she demonstrates in her sets tells scouts she is reading the block rather than defaulting to a favorite option, which is the quality that separates good setters from ones who can run a system at the college level. She is one of the more complete young setters in the 2028 class in Texas and the ranking she has earned is a recognition that was coming the moment her production became impossible to overlook.
