Highlight Reelers in Montgomery County at Bishop Brossart Game

Setter [player_tooltip player_id='484451' first='Aubrey' last='Rebholz'] has played with both for a couple seasons and consistently puts balls in their power zones to make it difficult on opponents to stop them because they leap over them with strong vertical jumps. Bishop Brossart (31-3 overall) received plenty of other contributions from other players on their way to the 3-0 (25-13, 33-31, 25-18) region home win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='587827' first='Grace' last='Frommeyer'] and senior defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='569742' first='Josie' last='Reckner'] led the charge in the back row to make smooth passes to Rebholz so she could execute the fast-paced offense. [player_tooltip player_id='885509' first='Emma' last='Sheanshang'], [player_tooltip player_id='891600' first='Audrey' last='Arnold'], [player_tooltip player_id='832519' first='Hailey' last='Heitker'], [player_tooltip player_id='988769' first='Claire' last='Decker'] and even [player_tooltip player_id='732580' first='Leah' last='Robinson'] took some sound swings to give the Mustangs their usual balance. Bishop Brossart did struggle to put Montgomery County away in that second set, but still came away with the win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"We talked about Montgomery County before the game. We talked about what we could do and how we could get up on them," Bishop Brossart head coach Danielle French said. "In that second set, we weren't doing our jobs. We weren't covering, playing our game on defense. We're a fast-moving offensive team and we kind of didn't run our offense that we normally do in that second set. That's what got us in a tight set. We've not played sets to 30 this entire year. Playing that far was a lot mentally and physically. But I'm proud of them for staying with it, not backing down and not letting up."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Montgomery County (21-13) did get into some rhythm, especially in that second set. [player_tooltip player_id='882112' first='Sophie' last='Fouch'], Hagan Stilz, Kylee Schultz and others made quality first touches to setter Meredith Miles. Ritter gets on top of balls before blockers get up to put great power into balls. Ritter delivers solid cut shots to the side lines and mixes in nice tips. Ritter is as aggressive as ever on her blocks. Opponents can't go soft on her. She has great connections with the Bishop Brossart hitters and it shows on a daily basis. Rebholz knows where they want balls and delivers them into their power zones. Rebholz does not lock her arms on those sets. Rebholz thunders down overpassed balls and her blocking is underrated. Rebholz teams up well with teammates to make things tough at the net for opponents. Robinson at least slows down balls for players in the back row. She works well with teammates to form solid double blocks at the net. Robinson reacts quickly on defense to keep plays alive and has a nice wrist snap on her swings. Robinson takes smooth swings to create lanes for teammates. She reads hitters well and makes the simple passes regularly on defense and serve receive. Frommeyer swings her arms out to dig up balls under control. Hudson attacks seams with relentless precision. Hudson skims the net for quick points and delivers sound topspin on her serves. The lefty hits balls at tough angles for defenders to pick up on and tools blocks. Allison does a good job pounding balls to deep corners.
