Ritter’s aggressive play in the front row goes a long way for the ‘Stangs and the hope is to finish off her career even stronger. Ritter led the state in blocks last year with using a highly aggressive approach. Ritter did struggle getting outside and closing blocks against solid athletes last year, but Ritter said her swing blocking has improved and that’s helped take the team defense to a higher level. Ritter has turned into a highlight reel. She has a great vertical jump and has developed a tough jam shot, making things difficult on highly-skilled defensive specialists. Ritter takes big rips on ones and gap shots and uses her off (left) hand to tip balls away from stunned opponents. Ritter said her swing blocking has improved

She takes big rips on gap shots and slams down overpassed balls. Described by teammates and close ones as funny, spontaneous and calm, Ritter is showing the determination to go into her senior season strong. Ritter said she’s been working on looking for different openings on the court.

Ritter has turned into a solid six-rotation all-around player. Ritter stays aggressive the entire game. dominating the net with solid swings and a great blocking form. She also patrols the back with authority with first contacts. Ritter also serves aggressively to different parts of the court unless she finds a struggling opponent.

Ritter has turned into the huge force in the middle the Brossart staff envisioned when she entered high school. Ritter is very aggressive at the net both offensively and defensively. She takes hard swings, especially on ones, but can also make plays at the pins. Ritter also makes good passes and sends hard serves to different spots on the floor. Ritter said trying hard, desire and not being lazy about being tall is a key to solid front row play.

Ritter has gone from a good hitter to a dominant one and more than did it again on her 16th Birthday. Ritter plays like she owns the net consistently putting balls down. She pounds down overpassed balls. Ritter deposits short and long sets to different parts of the court. Ritter makes quick adjustments while in the air to angle balls away from defenders.

Ritter continues to develop her arm swing throughout club season. Ritter does a good job using her size to control the net. Ritter is also making some nice passes in the back row when she gets time back there, trying to turn into a sound all-around player.

Ritter took steps to becoming a more complete six-rotation player this season. Ritter has great net awareness, consistently recording solo and double blocks. Brossart head coach Danielle French agreed she tracks balls well and is a very consistent, reliable server. French also agreed she’d like to see Ritter take more aggressive swings considering she’s the tallest player in the 10th Region. Ritter had 223 kills, 30 solo blocks, 48 assisted blocks and 62 aces, helping Brossart go 26-12, win another All “A” 10th Region crown and finish 37th District and 10th Region Tournament runner-up.
