Every program needs someone who can be trusted when the ball is in the air and the pressure is on. These four back-row players have built exactly that kind of trust, not through flash, but through habits that hold up point after point. Court awareness, composure, and the ability to turn a mistake into the next good read.

Dylan Jang plays with a go mentality that sets her apart in the back row. Her range comes from staying stopped on contact, which puts her in position to make a quick, controlled move to the ball rather than a reactive one. She reads serve receive fast and covers ground others can't, and she has put in real time on drop float serves specifically, turning a common trouble spot into a strength. She thinks in adjustments. When a ball gets past her, her first instinct is to identify what happened and correct it on the next play, not to dwell on it. Her voice carries as much weight as her defense. She commands both the back row and front row, calling out open spots and directing her team into position. Dylan took ownership of her own recruiting path early, choosing to drive the process herself rather than leaving it to her parents, and she has built a plan around college camps, coach emails, and social media that actually shows her game. She is doing the work early, and it shows in how deliberate her approach already is.

Isabel Yeung made the switch from setter to libero only a season ago, and the growth since has been significant. She now moves faster, covers more court, and reads the game with a clarity that reflects real repetition, not just natural instinct. She thrives on the team-first nature of volleyball and finds genuine satisfaction in the process of getting better, which means a mistake doesn't rattle her. It becomes information she uses to adjust. She has become a steady presence for her teammates, using eye contact in serve receive and encouraging words in the huddle to keep everyone centered, and her own commitment to improvement has raised the standard for those around her. Isabel is pairing her volleyball goals with strong academic priorities, targeting schools with high academic standards, and she brings the same focus to her game. Her instincts inside the sport are sharp. Her presence outside of it will only get louder as more coaches see what she does on the court.

Kaliah Demuro plays defense with a phrase she repeats to herself constantly: see ball, get ball. It shows in how she reads the game, tracking the play and the opposing offense to put herself in position before the ball arrives. She brings consistency, communication, and court awareness every time she steps on the floor, and her teammates and coaches have learned they can trust her in serve receive and in the back row without hesitation. She recently added a split step to her game, which has sharpened her first-step reaction and kept her more balanced the instant an attacker makes contact. It is a small technical change with a real payoff. Kaliah treats her development like a daily habit, training, going to the gym, debriefing her own practices, and journaling her progress, and that discipline is already showing up in how she competes.

Mia Haggerty holds herself and everyone around her to a simple standard: get one percent better every time you step in the gym. She plays with aggression and effort, chasing down balls that look out of reach because she believes every touch matters for the next player. She has developed real leadership on the court, choosing to lift her teammates up rather than let a tough moment bring the group down. Since last season, her communication has gotten louder and more consistent, and that shift has translated into a visible jump in her confidence and her mental toughness on the court. Mia is just beginning to reach out to coaches directly, and she is doing it the right way, putting real film and information in front of the people who need to see it. She plays like someone who already understands what it takes to be counted on.
