USAV GJNC Showcase Session I Top Performers Vol 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the Girls Junior National Championship Showcase Session I, held at the Indiana Convention Center on June 24^th.  The event brought together athletes from across the nation looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. The 5'8" setter from Antonian Prep and also playing with [program_tooltip program_id='431254' first='San' last='Antonio Juniors'] 15 Adidas earned a Top Performer award by running an offense built around athletes she had never played with before. The smoothness with which she handled that challenge told court coaches and scouts exactly what they needed to know about her feel for the position. Her footwork, release point, and tempo variety drew consistent praise throughout both the skill and scrimmage portions of the event. The confidence she brought to every set reflected the competitive environment she has been developing in throughout the club season. She led without being overly loud, communicated consistently, and kept the energy of her side of the net steady throughout the event. College coaches watching a setter operate with that kind of composure and adaptability in an unfamiliar system tend to remember it. The 5'9" right side from Brandeis earned a Top Performer award by bringing her full game to the event, attacking with range from the right pin, and also engaging at the net with timing and purpose. Court coaches noted her leadership across the scrimmage segments, where she communicated loudly and consistently and pulled her teammates into rallies rather than trying to control the outcome herself. She handled every competitive moment with the sportsmanship and confidence that college staffs look for when they are evaluating character alongside tools. Listed on the Prep Dig Texas official watch list, Gibson gave programs from outside her region a reason to put her on their board after June 24th. The 5'5" setter from Lake Howell earned a Top Performer award in Indianapolis by running a system with unfamiliar hitters and making it look natural, getting to bad passes with quick feet, varying her tempo and consistently putting her attackers in position to succeed against a block they were seeing for the first time. Court coaches praised her decisiveness and her court vision throughout both the skill and scrimmage portions of the event, and the leadership she showed in keeping her teammates connected and competing was noted as one of the defining qualities of her night. She brought genuine sportsmanship to every segment and competed with a composure that college coaches associate with setters who are further along in their development than their class year suggests.
