Six Players Who Finished Club With Momentum

Their games kept getting bigger through the summer. Some improved their serve-receive, others took on bigger swings in big moments, and a few began finding ways to impact matches beyond the attack. That's the type of progress you want to see from one tournament to the next. She carries a heavy offensive load and continues to produce whether the ball is in-system or out-of-system. She can tool the block, attack deep seams, or locate open court when defenses start to cheat. But what impressed me most was how consistent she was from the first serve to match point. She wants the ball when the set is on the line, and more often than not, she delivers. She reads hitters early, keeps her platform quiet in serve receive, and appears to come up with digs that keep rallies alive when points look finished. I kept seeing how often she made difficult first contacts into playable balls, giving her side another chance to score. She became a more complete outside scorer, scoring in transition, making smart decisions against the block, and staying involved in every rotation. She doesn't need one shot for points. Instead, she mixes up her attack, keeping defenders on their toes. She closes blocks well, takes away angles, and remains available in transition, where she can quickly score off-tempo sets. What I thought was interesting was how much more self-assured she looked as the season went on. She does a nice job of giving her hitters one-on-one opportunities, making good decisions in transition, and keeping blockers from getting settled. Even when she's pulled off the net on a pass, she finds a way to get a ball back in play. She attacks with purpose, stays aggressive in transition, and makes good use of the whole court, not just power. I also liked how much she took on in serve receive and didn't let that detract from her offense.
