2029s and 2030s Building Complete Toolboxes

It does not show the tempo a player holds over a full tournament, the shot variety she has built rep by rep, or who she is when the scoreboard is not the story.   That is the picture this group of seven 2029 and 2030 prospects paints when they talk about their own games. Not one highlight swing, but a full toolbox. Not one leadership moment, but a daily habit.   Here is what stands out about seven athletes building complete games, on the court and off it.    Sally Weisenberg has a line she comes back to more than once, unprompted: she doesn't think she was built to play this sport because she's great at one specific skill, she thinks she was built to play it because of how she can elevate the people around her. That shows up in how she describes her own game, constant communication, relentless energy, and a competitive intensity that she says changes the momentum of a match.   At Nationals, she delivered the hardest overpass swing of her career against her pool's top seed, and what stuck with her wasn't the kill itself, it was watching her team's confidence and communication shift in the points that followed.   She's carrying that same intensity into a packed summer: AAU National Pairs, AVP Junior Nationals, and Division I beach camps, on top of strength and basketball training to build a more explosive, complete athlete. She holds a 4.0 GPA as a four-sport varsity athlete at Mission College Prep, often starting her day at 5 a.m., and she says character is the standard she measures herself against just as much as talent.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Kamila Delacruz's first contact is the strength she leads with, and it shows in how she talks about her role: consistent serve receive, aggressive defensive reads, and communication that doesn't stop whether she's on the court or cheering from the bench.   At Nationals, she dug some of the best hitters her team faced all tournament, a clear marker that her defensive habits are already translating against elite competition a full grade level up. She's a freshman who plays like she's been doing this longer, and she backs that with a work ethic that carries into the classroom and a faith and family foundation she credits for keeping her grounded.   This summer includes the Freshman PrepDig Showcase, team invites, private lessons, and steady time in the weight room, all aimed at becoming a more complete libero heading into her first high school season.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Allison Howard runs her back row the way a point guard runs an offense: constant talk, constant organization, constant reassurance to the players around her. Her first contact is the foundation of that system. She passes with enough accuracy that her offense can run at full tempo instead of scrambling to adjust, and that reliability is what she wants a coach to notice before anything flashy does.   At USAV Nationals, that consistency showed up in a semifinal against a team's best hitter, a clean read, a controlled pass, and a set that let her right side finish the point and send Omni to the championship match. She backs that composure with real infrastructure: strength work with Omni's training staff and regular sessions with a mental performance coach to keep her game steady under pressure. Off the court, she coaches younger athletes at Omni clinics, carries a 3.9 weighted GPA in honors classes, and credits her faith and family for keeping her grounded through all of it.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Ask Sofia-Rose "SR" Husband what's translating right now and she'll give you three answers without hesitating: where she places the ball on offense, the energy she brings regardless of the score, and her ability to read a setter's tendencies fast enough to get into position for a block. That third piece is the one she's proudest of, the kind of skill that only shows up as a stat line but starts as film study and repetition.   At Nationals, that reading ability turned into a set-winning stuff block against a hitter her team had faced multiple times that season, a clean payoff for reps most people never see.   This summer she's touring campuses at South Carolina, Notre Dame, Pepperdine, and Cal while tightening her approach timing for a faster tempo offense and working on her vertical three days a week with Marymount's pre-season program.   Off the court, she's protective of the parts of her life that have nothing to do with volleyball: she reads constantly and wants her team relationships to be real friendships first.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Amelia Brown's game is built around decision-making. She varies tempo and location on purpose so blockers can never settle into a pattern, and she's become noticeably more aggressive defensively, chasing down balls and getting back to the net fast enough to stay in system.   At Nationals, that setter IQ was on display when she noticed opposing blockers starting to read her sets and adjusted on the fly, opening up one-on-one looks for her hitters mid-match. She describes moments like that as fun, which tells you something about how she handles pressure: as a puzzle to solve rather than a threat to manage.   She holds a 4.13 weighted GPA in honors coursework, and she names coachability as one of her defining traits, someone who wants to be trusted with the ball in every situation because she's put in the work to earn it.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Amelia Houtzer's biggest jump this season has been in her shot selection. She went from essentially one swing to a full arsenal, line, deep cross, tips into open court, and that range is what's let her score against bigger, more physical blocks instead of getting shut down by them. That same growth shows up in her communication, which she credits to the discipline she's built through balancing volleyball, swimming, and school. She talks about a certain competitive gear that shows up in big moments, a level of confidence and trust in her teammates that lets her take full swings even when a match gets tight, and that mentality is exactly what's driving her shot variety forward.   This summer she's attending college camps and focusing on ball control, hand contact, approach timing, and consistent serve receive, all while prioritizing strength training, nutrition, and recovery. She wants to be remembered as someone who's honest, accountable, and dependable in the classroom just as much as on the court.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Evelyn Anderson wants to be useful in every rotation, and her answers reflect that: she talks about defensive reads that keep rallies alive with the same enthusiasm she talks about closing points with a big swing or a block. Serve receive has become a stated priority for her because she understands that a great pass is what gives an offense its options, and she's actively expanding her shot selection with tips, roll shots, and better court vision so she isn't just a power hitter.   Her team played five three-set matches out of nine at Nationals, a tournament that demanded a lot physically and rewarded the teams that could sustain their level deep into matches, and Evelyn points to that stretch as proof of how far her conditioning and composure have come.   Away from the court, she was a counselor for fifth graders at church camp this summer and served as a yearbook editor at school, leading a team of students through real deadlines.
