The month that brought us the first direct communication between the 2028 Class and college coaches resulted in a large swath of the group committing programs on the next level. The Ames junior impressed during a scouting opportunity at the Mizuno Midwest Challenge while operating through six rotations. There was plenty of explosion off the court and power at the pin. Lateral quickness and sharp reflexes aid in getting the job done in the back row. She's sound in serve-receive and understands setting up behind the block. Kenny was performing at a high level again when she showed up at the Prep Dig Iowa Stock Up Showcase during July in Clive. As a regular member of the Clipper rotation, the sophomore recorded 44 kills (.345) and 25.0 blocks. A breakout season likely is loading for Waters after watching her compete for Iowa United throughout the recent club campaign. She's easily 6-foot-3 with long arms, athleticism and agility. Wauters moves well and flows with the action, putting her in position to make plays. Her defense can be dominating, and the offense is on the rise with a high ceiling there as she adds strength. It was a loud swing for her age and explosive athleticism that projected a high ceiling. Marais has built on that foundation in high school and with Iowa United's top team for her age group. I watched her compete at a high level at the Windy City Qualifier Open Division and the Prep Dig Gauntlet. Marais' vertical leap is notable and leads into hang time to a heavy swing. She's learned how to harness her abilities into an efficient operation, playing swings off of blocks or exposing holes in the block and defense on the court. The Jaguars will be replacing key members of that squad, and the junior proved to be a serious candidate to break into the lineup with her performance with Iowa United 16 Timmerman this club campaign. That outfit finished second at the USAV Iowa Regional and qualified for nationals in Indy. Sandholm is an attractive blend of present volleyball production with a high ceiling colleges can develop. She shows a really keen feel for operating in tune with match flow and being in position to make plays. The bouncy sophomore piled up 186 kills in 94 sets, hitting an impressive .253 along the way. Dodd should see her role increase for a Wildcat team chasing a state title despite graduation losses. She's prepared to do the job after watching her multiple times with Six Pack this club year. Dodd is a six-rotation outside hitter steadily sharpening all the skills required to pull that off. Her well-rounded game allows for production all around the court. The swing impresses.
