2030 Class Locked In at Nevada Freshman Showcase

There are almost not enough words to express what just occurred a few short hours ago here in Southern Nevada, because the class of 2030, the Freshman, the ballers did not come into this gym quietly, they did not shy from their opportunity, and they jumped on the chance to light the atmosphere on fire, compete with intensity, sound off as loudly as possible, ask questions, and they showcased their talent in a major way.   This article is to highlight some of the freshman hitters at this Nevada Freshman Showcase that took advantage of great setting, but they worked through out of system setting, Prep Dig style drills and they'll undoubtedly make a name for themselves as this was just a starting point.    "Wow", "Amazing", "Who is that" is what we continued to hear throughout the Freshman showcase, and [player_tooltip player_id='991238' first='Skye' last='Morgan'] proudly represented and showcased an unmatched hustle that cannot go unrecognized. Sky possesses a grit and work ethic that far exceeds her age. Her ability to read her setter with in-system & out-of-system passes is something to witness and the dawg in this baller brings out strength that hasn't even been fully awakened yet.   Sky dropped powerful attack after attack, sounded off on defense to lead her team in many ways, communicated very effectively and we're extremely excited to watch this baller as the sky is the limit. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     [player_tooltip player_id='846638' first='Emily' last='Van Aken'] came to the Freshman Showcase determined to ball out of control and she did just that. There was no stopping her as she was on a mission, not only to be a top performer, but to notch her name and ability in our memory because she is that athlete.   She shows no fear when she's on the attack and her 5'8 stature positions her to be high in vertical and destructive in her strikes. She is a non-stop work-a-holic that make sure the efforts of her defense results in an offensive point. Her leadership and poise are very evident on the court and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this baller. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     [player_tooltip player_id='1002911' first='Sofia' last='Cunningham'] is simply unbelievable. This 2030 Freshman is set a part in so many ways, it's not even a joke. Flexing a 6ft presentation, her wing span is amazing, her attention to detail is phenomenal, and when this attacker is rising for a kill, every eye in the building knows it's going down and the excitement can begin.   Evaluating Sofia came easy because when a baller like Sofia takes the guidance given and applies it for the better, it results in just what Sofia executed at the Freshman Showcase. Flying extremely high and towering over the opposition, Sofia proved why she's very difficult to defend, and continued to show why she is that girl you need to know about. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     [player_tooltip player_id='962275' first='Tea' last='Gutierrez'] is one of the most consistent Freshman out there! The Nevada Freshman showcase was just another stop in the trail of this ballers destruction because she brought the noise to the gym. Flying high, hitting hard with a determination that was readily evident, Tea was not playing with the opposition today.   This ballers elevation is crazy good, and the skills she displays on defense such as pressing her solo blocks, keeping the ball up on out of system returns, and reading the defense to explode on her kills will keep this baller at the top of rankings. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     Just as suspected, [player_tooltip player_id='922344' first='Kianna' last='Jackson'] did not disappoint! She walked into the Freshman Showcase fired up to listen, to learn, to ask questions and affect the game in a major way. Showcasing consistent approaches and persistent attacks, Kianna did not let up from court to court. Calling for the ball any time it came to her side, she was determined to shine and did just that.   Kianna will continue to dominate as she elevates in her position. Keep an eye out for this baller to have a stellar high school season. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     [player_tooltip player_id='788915' first='Abigail' last='Kim'] came to the Freshman Showcase to put the volleyball community on notice! Knowing that pin hitters must maintain the firm ability to pass, Abigail showcased this in such an efficient way. Watching Abigail take advantage of the moment to talk it up, ground herself into a solid base that lead to a sound platform, one would just know an on-point pass is coming and she did just that over & over. Beyond that Abigail possessed a very fundamental approach, solid attacking and we're excited to watch this baller showcase her skills in the very near future. - Anthony Jones (Prep Dig Nevada Scout)     [player_tooltip player_id='988264' first='Stella' last='Cleveland'] is simply that baller that's ready for the moment, and at the Freshman Showcase, Stella was not holding back. Showcasing her skill in a variety of ways, she stepped into the hitter lines and went to work immediately!
