It’s a big task for the Greenbrier Panthers. Slow down a powerful Mount St. Mary attack and put enough pressure on the Belles to make them play defense.

That starts up front with Tenley Treece Tenley Treece 6'0" | MB/RS Greenbrier | 2029 State AR and Aubree McGinty. Treece has the size to dominate at the net, but she’s still learning the position. She saw plenty of playing time as a freshman and had to learn on the fly. That experience is paying off. She’s hitting .358 this season, up from .221 a year ago, and has already surpassed last season’s block total in 31 fewer sets.

Greenbrier will need Treece and McGinty to get their hands on plenty of balls tonight. They don’t have to stuff every attack, but slowing down the Belles’ hitters will give the back row a chance to make plays and get the Panthers into their own offense.

Season Stats: 56 sets | 74 kills | .358 hp | 30 blocks

Tenley put together an impressive stat line during her freshman season for the Panthers. Teaming with fellow freshman Tristyn Moseley Tristyn Moseley 5'6" | OH Greenbrier | 2029 State AR , the two provided a youthful injection into the 2025 Greenbrier roster. I have written plenty about Moseley and her fearless attacks, but Treece should not be overlooked. She more than held her own, playing in 87 sets with 97 kills, a .221 hitting percentage, and 29 blocks. Strong numbers for a rookie!

As Tenley continues to grow, both physically and as a volleyball player, those numbers should keep going up. She made a lot of progress over the summer, even earning All-Tournament Team and MVP honors at the Presidents Day tournament with her Hollenball Juniors teammates. Continued improvement in her technique should lead to more blocks, more kills, and an even bigger role.

With almost the entire team returning from last season, Greenbrier has plenty of weapons. Treece gives them another young one who is only getting better, making the Panthers a real threat in the 5A Central.
