Firepower Above the Net at Sophomore ID Showcase V2

Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! We had some big events that were held at the Courtside Sports Center on July 19th. The Sophomore showcase for the 2029 grad class was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three pin attackers who earned Top Performer honors at the Dallas Sophomore showcase.    [player_tooltip player_id='579122' first='Aaria' last='Bruner'] plays the outside hitter position with a physicality that made her one of the harder players to defend against throughout the Dallas Sophomore ID Camp. Her approach generated real power and she did not default to the same shot every time the set was delivered cleanly. She adjusted her hand based on what the block gave her and found productive angles in the scrimmage segments that told court coaches she is thinking while she swings. She also showed great promise while playing defense and passing serve receive. We have seen her for the past two years grow so much and become a threat in every aspect of the game. I strongly suggest that every coach in the country give her a shot and watch her perform at a high level. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     Six feet three inches. Outside hitter. Class of 2029. That profile does not come along often and [player_tooltip player_id='999321' first='Bryce' last='Reed'] gave the court coaches at the Dallas Sophomore ID Camp a clear look at what it can eventually become. She already made the Godley varsity roster as a freshman, which tells you she has been evaluated by a coaching staff and held up against older players. The tools she brings to the pin are extraordinary and the evaluation question at this stage is how the technical development catches up to the physical gifts, because when those two things converge in a player with this frame the result is something college programs will be fighting over. She competed with a willingness to learn throughout the day and that coachability on top of the physical profile makes her one of the more compelling prospects in this group. What court coaches noticed about [player_tooltip player_id='1004409' first='Claire' last='Berryman'] at the Dallas Sophomore ID Camp was not one big moment. It was the fact that she was doing something right on almost every contact throughout the day. Her footwork into the approach was deliberate and she transferred momentum through her swing rather than stopping her feet and arm-swinging from a flat base. She stayed in the game defensively and passed well enough in serve receive to earn trust in all six rotations. There is no doubt in my mind that this young lady has what it takes to make the official watch list and possibly the state ranking list one day. She earned this recognition by being a complete player in all aspects of the game. She deserves a lot of looks moving forward.
