Making an Early Statement: Hitters Producing at the Net

Early numbers on MaxPreps are giving us a first look at who is producing and putting points on the board. She works to get open in transition and can pressure the block with the pace of her approach and attack. I like how aggressively Cruz looks to score when she connects well with her setter. She can attack with pace, but I also like that she isn't limited to one swing when the block gets in front of her. Anetipa works different areas of the court and can adjust when the ball isn't perfectly located. There's intent behind her approach, and she can generate a strong swing when she gets herself in rhythm. Rajkowski also continues to work back into transition and make herself available for another ball rather than disappearing after the first attack. She can adjust to the set, see what is developing in front of her, and find an answer instead of trying to force the same swing into a formed block. That ability becomes especially valuable on the outside when the offense gets pushed out of system. I like the way she gets herself available in transition and attacks the matchups she gets on the right side. Garman can bring some physicality to the swing and gives the offense another option away from the left pin. MaxPreps lists Barker with 73 kills, but I'm interested in more than the total.
