Expert Analysis
Amy VanGuilder | Prep Dig Scout
If you didn’t know what grade she was in, you’d never guess Bednar is only entering her sophomore season. Despite her age, she’s already been a huge varsity player for several years and plays with a level of confidence and skill that stands out. After finishing last season with nearly 200 kills, Bednar is once again positioned to be one of the “go to” players for Lyle Pacelli again. What I like most about her and her game is her versatility. She tends to find a way to adapt to just about any ball in any situation. With a young, talented team around her this fall, she’ll be looked not only for her skills but also for her leadership.

is built to be a cornerstone. Her approach is efficient and repeatable, keeping her on time in both system and transition. She scores with range—power when the lane is open, precision when the block commits. In serve-receive, she stays composed and delivers first contact that stabilizes rotations. Jacey impacts every phase of the game, and this club season will show a true six-rotation pin who can carry volume while anchoring the floor. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Lyle Pacelli outside hitter, Jacey Bendar is only a freshman and is having quite the year. With 125 kills and 37 aces, Bednar is hitting .213 on the season and averaging 3 kills/set. Bednar is not new to top level volleyball. In fact, Bednar is a veteran on the varsity team as she has been in the starting rotation since 7th grade. She is quick, has a high point of contact, and a super fast arm swing that makes her terminal on nearly every play.

, a freshman in the class of 2029, is off to an impressive start this season with 109 kills, showing early signs of becoming a key offensive weapon. As an outside hitter, Bednar combines a quick arm swing with smart shot selection, consistently finding gaps in the defense and putting pressure on opponents. Her ability to swing effectively in transition and off-system situations makes her a reliable scoring option for her team.
Bednar’s court awareness and versatility set her apart—she reads blocks well, adjusts mid-rally, and contributes on both the front and back row. Even as a freshman, she’s already demonstrating the skills and volleyball IQ that could make her one of the top hitters in her class as the season progresses.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

#30 Bednar doesn’t just hit the ball hard but she utilizes her finesse and will hit sharp cross-court or go down the line to score. She isn’t afraid to use a well timed roll shot or an expertly placed tip into the open court. Bednar is a nice up-and-coming attacker who can utilize her prowess in all six rotations. She does a great job of reaching high to extend her contact point in her attack.
