Ceil Billings Tournament Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Had the privilege of attending and help run the Ceil Billings tournament at Greenway High School this past weekend! I saw a ton of great volleyball and took notes on some players that I need to check out later and move up in our rankings update when that comes around during the season! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I want to congratulate Arcadia on winning the whole tournament, as they had a fantastic finals against Cactus and both teams look like they can make some noise come postseason time! She was able to do a little bit of everything to help the Titans, as she served with pace, played high level defense, and ran a great offense. On offense, Jade delivered hittable balls consistently, which gave her attackers opportunities to score in rhythm, and showed confidence spreading the offense around as she didn't need to rely on one weapon during games. Her serving was also fun to watch, she really takes up all the space before the end line, I have never seen a athlete get that close to foot faulting each play without ever doing it. She served aggressively and it was a huge weapon in her matches. I think one underrated skill of Addison is her offensive game, she really has a great arm swing and the ability to terminate on the pin as a hitter. She also uses that same offensive game as a setter and would routinely score as a setter with her dumps and aggressiveness at the net. She is also a great defender and did a great job with her blocking and taking away space from outside hitters. Her defense is also plus in he back row and she didn't have too many errors as a defender. She was one of the top kill getters and would be the go to girl in a situation where her team needed a kill. She was excellent with her transitions and getting behind the ball to get some pace behind each hit, she was also able to see open spots on the floor and take what the defense gave her. She didn't shy away from being aggressive and would take aggressive swings in any situations. She was comfortable in serve receive and defense with her passing and was able to keep her team in system more times then not. She was excellent at the net with her block and got a ton of touches and shut down blocks. She was a big reason why Greenway made the gold bracket as her all around play was exceptional throughout the matches. She has very soft hands and is able to take a average pass and make it into a in system swing for her hitters. She was also one of the top defender out of the setters, getting a ton of digs and touches on hard driven balls to keep plays alive. She also was given the chance to take some swings with some out of system balls and has a very aggressive swing with a lot of pace. Haidyn showed a ton of high IQ throughout her matches and most impressively played with a ton of energy and passion during her games. On offense this lefty was unstoppable a lot of times with her ability to hit a wide variety of shots, and being able to hit some off speed shots when the time came for it. Her IQ really came through on offense as she was able to take what she was given and score a ton of points. She was just fun to watch with her arm speed, and power as a hitter. Now Nicole also has great hands and can run a very fast and controlled offense as well. She really has a full package when it comes to a right side as she can set, hit, and play defense with the best of them. She is someone who never needs to come off the floor and is a top level player who could start on any team there. She gets up extremely high for a pin, and uses that height to hit above a lot of blocks, it also helps her hit the sharper angles that she needs to get around set blocks. She swing violently and has a lot of pace behind her ball when she swings. She is able to hit from all spots on the floor and that includes the back row where she is just as big of a threat to score as the front row. I was impressed with her movement and ability to get a ton of touches both on defense and in serve receive. She is a fluid mover and can get her arms and angles in a great spot to pass a ball regardless of the situation. She was all over the place with her effort and hustle, continually taking out of system balls and making them into in system sets for her team. She ran a very effective offense and seemed to know who had an advantage at the net to take advantage of. She was also a very good servers, continually taking the other team out of system with her aggressive serves and placement. She was also great in defense, getting a lot of great touches in the back row along with being a big presence at the net with her blocking. Her offensive game is elite, and seems to have a lot of room to grow still with her game play. She is someone who should be ranked in our next update as she was dominate with her swings throughout the tournament. She was able to hit through, around, and over blocks when the time called for it and score at will against some teams. She had a ton of 1 on 1 chances at the net and took full advantage scoring a ton of points for her team. She was also great at the net with her blocking and would press far over the net and take up a lot of angles from the hitters. She was also very loud at vocal on the floor and we loved her energy as she played.
