Addison is a top level setter who who thoroughly impressed me over the 3 day tournament. My favorite thing about watching her play is the ability she has to deliver great sets from both in system pass or an out of system pass. She was able to run the middles from a lot of locations that most setters are unable to do. She always seemed to make the smart decision with her choices and setting to give her hitters the best chance to score. She is the type of player that makes everyone around her better! She also did well with her ability to keep teams honest with her offense. She is always a threat to score in the front row and made sure to take advantage multiple times when the opportunity called for it. What made her tournament even more impressive was her ability to help with her defense (both front and back row) and her serving to keep teams out of system or targeting specific players who were weaker. Her tournament really showcased the whole package and she was an easy pick for a Summer NIT standout.

Addison just continues to preform to a high level and does so at a consistent level. She moves with such ease and is able to get her hands on the ball no matter where the pass ends up and always gives the ball to her hitters in a great location. The most impressive part of her game is honestly how well she uses her middle hitters and the amount of different sets she can run with them. To be able to set your middles across the board anywhere with any type of pass just really shows how well of a setter she is, and forces the defense to stay at home and not get to the pin hitters in time which gives them a ton of 1 on 1 opportunities. She also plays a high level of defense and her court IQ shows with how well she reads other teams hitters and can get her feet there and set. Addison preformed very well so far this weekend and we don’t see that changing over the course of tomorrow as they go for their bid!

Few freshmen in Arizona are making the kind of impact that Addie Martin is delivering in her debut season at Cactus High School. A true all-around standout, Addie currently ranks 8th in the state among freshmen for assists, with 232 and counting.
What sets Addie apart is her versatility and competitive edge. She plays all six rotations, setting from the back row and transitioning seamlessly into an offensive role when she’s in the front row. Already surpassing 100 kills on the season, she’s proven herself to be a legitimate offensive threat—an uncommon achievement for a setter at any level, let alone a freshman. Defensively, Addie brings just as much firepower. With 129 digs so far, she’s a gritty and reliable defender who keeps her team steady, especially in out-of-system situations.
