Texas HS: Seven Lakes beat Jordan to get seventh district win

Jordan have four wins and three losses in district play and 19 wins and ten losses in the full season.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Players of the Match</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ngoh was Seven Lakes' top scorer in the match and had a critical role in their victory. The senior middle was excellent offensively, converting 14 of her 23 swings into points and largely winning the battle at the net to give the Spartans the edge in a key area of the game. Her blocking presence was another factor as she produced a match-high six stops, coming up with points in big moments of the match. Ngoh also served very well, getting three consecutive aces on set three and another one on set four to cap off her 24-point performance.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/09/2J4A0092.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1042781" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Okwura was very consistent offensively and was very important at the net, registering 11 kills for the Spartans. The junior middle found great angles with her swings and was very difficult to stop, making very few errors. Okwura was asked to hit from the left in one rotation and did very well there, using her high contact point to hit over the top of opposing blockers. She also used her 6'3" frame extremely well defensively, consistently getting in the way of opponents and leaving the court with three blocks to her name.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/09/2J4A0093.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1042782" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Sabelli was a key piece in Seven Lakes' game plan, as her ability to keep the team in system allowed the Spartans to use their middles heavily and get in a good position to claim the victory. The senior libero was very reliable and effective in serve-receive, covering a lot of ground and being very accurate with her passing - she had 25 passes and only one error. Sabelli also made an impact on defense, leading her team with eight digs and showing great mobility to chase tips and ball control to handle hard-driven swings. The libero also did well when she had to set in transition, delivering accurate balls at the pins.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/09/2J4A0026_3bb81d.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1042755" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Reyes did a good job of understanding the best way to win the match and stuck to the plan, using her powerful middles to score points. Despite prioritizing Ngoh and Okwura in her distribution, the junior setter was very good at diversifying her calls and moved them around very often. Reyes also had a good blocking presence, registering two stops, including the one that ended the match. The setter also showed solid ball control on defense, coming up with five digs.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/09/2J4A0055.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1042766" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Wright had a strong all-around performance and was among Jordan's top players on the court. The senior was at a serious height disadvantage when facing Seven Lakes' tall middles at the net, but worked hard against them and managed to produce some kills and blocks. Wright stayed on the court when on the back row and was very dependable and efficient with her passing. She even stepped up to set in transition plays and was also very important emotionally, playing with noticeable energy and positively impacting her teammates.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/09/2J4A0084.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1042775" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mucha had a productive night at the pin and made a strong impression with her intelligent offensive game at the net. The freshman outside hitter was under constant pressure against Seven Lakes' big blockers, but held her own and managed to keep her production steady throughout the match. Mucha made a great impression with her vision and decision-making, unleashing her power when she could and intelligently tipping and tooling the block to get the ball down when facing well-formed blocks. A lefty, she showed some serious firepower and made it very difficult for opponents to control her swings. Perhaps more importantly, the junior right side stood out for her variation, finding different angles and directions at the net and using tips to catch opponents off guard every now and then.
