If you've been following my state-to-state tour on the Prep Network site, you may have seen our Kansas 2030 watch list debut. This release primarily highlighted some early first-year contributors on the Kansas prep scene, and we had plenty of athletes to choose from. Now, Nebraska is giving us a similarly robust group of freshman stars.

That's a long-winded way of saying that our first Nebraska 2030 watch list is coming soon. Like that Kansas release, we're not establishing any ranked hierarchy yet. We have a long way to go to reach that point, and we're merely looking to expand our database heading into the 2027 club season. That's where the list will expand even further.

For now, we have no shortage of new names to discuss. Frontcourt attackers take command for today's feature.

The Rink lineage persists at Lincoln Southwest. Rink gave us a glimpse of her show-stopping physicality when the Silver Hawks competed at last month's LPS Classic. The VCNebraska athlete has extensive experience in the middle, but her services have also been needed at LSW's opposite position. Her sky-high contact point isn't just helpful when Rink swings over the top of opposing hands. She also presents an imposing wall for left-side hitters, and Rink's technique has sharpened in the Class A arena.

Diller-Odell has seen plenty of exceptional attackers over the past decade, and the Griffins likely have another in the 2030 class. Day has been borderline unstoppable in her debut prep season, averaging nearly four-and-a-half kills per set on a 0.371 clip. This freshman brings intimidating length to the middle blocker spot and has flourished as a '2 tempo' attacker across the front row. Day's comfort with slower sets has allowed her to shift to the left side in first-ball situations to keep momentum on Diller-Odell's side. The Griffins have a chance to eclipse last year's win total and should go even further with this high-flying freshman.

This is quite a varsity debut. Pospisil has been a valuable part of Bishop Neumann's operation, compiling some assertive swings on the right side and putting up a formidable block on the wing. But the Cavaliers' overall team success has commanded much of the attention, with Bishop Neumann soaring to a perfect 27-0 record. Pospisil is already building a habit of winning and doing whatever it takes to help her team succeed. A trip to this year's postseason would add to her greatness among her 2030 peers.

Palmyra has been a frequent contributor to these underclassman features. The tradition continues with Calver soaring into triple-digit kills and expanding her range in the Panthers' rotation. Calver's numbers only tell part of the story of her impressive 2026 campaign. Her attacking volume has been split between the left and right antennas, giving Palmyra broad possibilities on the lineup card. Regardless of designated position, Calver is a clear go-to when Palmyra needs a clutch first-ball sideout. Best of all, the Panthers are playing some of their best volleyball in a while, all while sparring against top-tier teams in southeast Nebraska.

We'll never hesitate to discuss a southpaw opposite, and Allen has become a must-see lefty in Nebraska's 2030 class. Her quick, efficient approach on the right pin allows her to get ahead of opposing blockers and exploit open nets. Weeping Water will also run Allen inside the antenna to find new angles in the middle of the court. Whatever the case, this freshman has compiled one of Nebraska's best scoring totals in the class, closing in on 250 total terminations this fall. Allen's growth as a right-back floor defender has earned her plenty of six-rotation reps, and we'd expect many more throughout her high school career.

Look out for this multi-talented terminator from the Gibbon lineup. The Buffaloes have leaned on several underclassmen this year, and Thyne has led the charge in several statistical categories. She has racked up a team-best 3.6 kills per set on an equally proficient 0.286 hitting percentage. As if that isn't enough, Thyne has also emerged as one of Gibbon's top serving weapons, too. Her scoring prowess can be seen in the middle or toward the antenna, where Thyne can use her physicality to overwhelm blocks on any tempo. We're excited to see how this youth movement translates to future growth for the Buffaloes program.
